Yepper, that is actually LOVE but it sure
does not feel great on the receiving end.
Calling the cops threat is a new one though.
LOL....ggg. Keep a copy of the book handy in
case they show up~!

I have done so much cleansing that by this
time my body is not carrying a huge toxic
load. No parasites, no yeast overgrowth, no
kidney issues, (I juiced and drank a watermelon
last week before starting as a kidney flush),
and I did two Liver Flushes prior to starting
my 30 day cleanse. Once your body gets cleaned
then what is left is the emotional detox and
believe me, it can also be a challenge. You
find yourself thinking of things you never
remembered before. Things you said as a child,
"I will NEVER forget this~!", and then as a
grown adult, fasting, these thoughts come
back to haunt you. So, while it is a vacation
from eating, it is a working vacation and that
is just a nice way of looking at it. It can
be a real kick in the arse, literally and
figuratively. If any of you read Seunim's
blog this morning, his kick in the arse arrived
today~ ;P

Anyway, hang in there. You are in the thick of
the first week when things are the roughest.
Really keep focused on the finish line and tell
yourself that no matter what happens, you are
going to finish. One thing the cleanse does is
help recommit yourself to YOU.

Try to wrap your mind around the concept of it
being healing too instead of a horrible chore.
It helps to know too that at the finish line
you will feel so empowered and your family will
be awed by your accomplishment. Maybe even the
cops and your mom too.

Oh, my favorite reaction to my own fasting, since
I like to give a little spiel about fasting and
how throughout the ages people have fasted. Even
Jesus went into the desert and fasted, I said.
My friend, ANGRY (at my choice) screamed at me
like a frustrated child, "AND YOU ARE NOT JESUS!".
That made me howl with laughter and all I could
do was hug her and try to reassure her that she
would not be burying me at month's end.

This too shall pass. Keep up the good work~!

My kids were the same way last time I did the cleanse. My oldest looked horrified as he ate and I did not. I think he thought I would perish for sure. I used that opportunity to read to them while they ate. Not sure how old your kids are but mine loved it. I picked one of my favorite childhood chapter books and I plan to do the same thing this time. Hang in there...this is a wonderful forum for support and you will benefit so much when you are done with the cleanse!

Hang in there. I had a co=worker threaten to refer me to a mental health professional the other day when I told him I hadn't eaten in 12 days due to the cleanse. I just laughed, but realized I had better choose my confidants more wisely. You can do this and yes, it does get more manageable as the days go on.

Hi. One reads and hears how many changes can occur when on a fast or a cleanse. People may change jobs, or move and stir things up in their relationships. Necessary shifting I think is drawn out of the experiecne of cleansing. Your husband sounds like he needs to deal with his fear (maybe fear of how you might change and how that may effect him)converting into control and threat ... but that is his journey. This is your journey. Perhaps this is an opportunity to strengthen boundaries with your family? I agree that the more we educate on ourselves on something that we are doing that goes against societal grain the more confident and even fierce we can become against the tide of their lack of understanding and unmoved or undealt with personal issues.
