What brand of EVCO are you using? It makes a difference. does it smell and taste like coconut, except oily?
I've been using Nutiva brand (makes hemp foods, oils and coconut). The difference is that this is truly a raw food, no bleaching, no nothing...it's picked, cracked pressed (I think I'm missing one step here, baking in the sun fora few minutes? maybe not,) then bottled and shipped. Comes from the PHillipines.
I bought Omega Nutrition, opened it up, it's still sitting on my counter after 8 months? It didn't smell like coconut, even my non-conscious parents who noticed that it didn't smell like coconut oil.
After doing some reading, perhaps on nutiva's site, someone told me the difference:
bleaching out the odors and the taste of organic extra virgin oil. Which alters the benefits.
Nutiva...I won't even try anything else, it's too expensive to try different brands. I first had some in 05, he lived in the town I used to live in and was good friends with a friend that makes soap. It smelled and tasted like coconut, mouth watering, until I ate it and besides the oil taste, the coconut taste was well, tasteee.
I don't know if it's just me, but when I first started eating EVCO (Nutiva brand back in 05), I noticed that those two weeks, I lost a 4 pounds. I had put on 30
pounds then. Then I ran out of nutiva's EVCO.
Flashforward to now, and my eating habits are better than two years ago, but I still don't eat good, and though I go to the gym 2-4 times a week (yah, I know, inconistent), I'm still not active an I just finished a jar of EVCO Nutiva, and I havne't dropped any weight. I cook with it, I mix it with my smoothie (which quickly solidifies)...my eating habits have to change and I need to get more active.
It seems that if one has a lot of fat to get rid of, that's what comes off. When I did the master cleanse, I only lost 5lbs, and I was my normal weight 123-5lbs. The 5 lbs made such a difference, I was leaner. I wasn't lifting weights, just a lot of hiking in LA, and dancing marathons at a club for hours 2x a week.
Now I live in another area (florida) and I don't go dancing 2x a week. I think my muscles are taking in the nutrients and not losing weight because my caloric intake is too much even though I'm exercising. I'm 34 and I used to lose and gain weight easily, now I just gain. THough I'm not going to accept that as fact. I had to divuluge everything so that you know that everyone is different with the weight and oil and no two oils are the same just like people.
aNyway, good luck with it...keep us posted!
