Bunny, I am sorry to hear this. It was almost to be expected. I wish everyone could establish a relationship with a doctor (not a specialist, however - they tend to be abusively dismissive, as if insulted by the implication that we are "sick") and gain that professional's trust before walking into an office with all that we know ready to throw out for diagnosis. I just don't see it ever working out well this way. It takes for a doctor to first know who you are - which is impossible to get from a specialist, because this is not their forte. They've got an entirely different motis operandi. And it's near impossible for me to ascertain just exactly what that is other than some form of bottom line.
You're almost just as well on your own. You can obtain what you need without a doctor, I believe. It is also possibly more harmful to be treated by a physician of any kind who does not have any real experience with
parasites - enough to understand them as well as we do, so to offer the meds in the same way we take naturals - kill the adults while being sure to include some means to get the dead out, a brief time out to avoid resistance, come back for the kill once the eggs have hatched, do it all over by rotatating the weopon(s) of choice.
I do know of someoone personally who acquired a horrendous parasitic infection while living in Africa for about a year. He is a yogi. This guy BEAT THEM DOWN with diet and herbs and his own form of regeneration via the ayurvedic (not even involving anything that turns on and off). It CAN be done. It could take time, but the one thing we KNOW it takes is persistence.
I hope you get some kind of results from your tests. I'd encourage you to be prepared for it to go either way. If you really want to get businesslike about it - bring in some material which contradicts his theories. Bring in lit on the specific meds you'd like and specific
parasites you suspect. (Careful with Mebendazole. Go for Alb first if you can first, IMO. Less toxic.)
The problem stems WAY beyond the intent of the doctors, no matter how much one might be on your side. My doctor needs, literally NEEDS in my chart an LFT report by Wednesday if she is to prescribe anything, even though she KNOWS she needs to do so. She can get into trouble. There is a reason for this.
There is a reason anti-helmetics are so controlled in the US and elsewhere. There is a reason doctors are restricted, uninformed, ignorant, whatever you choose to call it. This is messy stuff for them. Take my word on it. Spent too long today discussing this VERY issue with my MD.
The FDA has accesss to all the scripts out there being filled. If a doctor treats a parasitic infection correctly, prescribing enough meds to do the job - the doctor must have in your chart all T's crossed and I's dotted. And still they can be called into question.
Meanwhile they can dose out enough tranquilizers to one individual to euthanize an entire petting zoo. Why - well because these drugs are addictive.
Addiction = Profit
AND
Cure = Loss.
It's so simple it scares me.
See what happens, but either way this really is up to you. Even the best meds, the most you can get of them - WILL NOT DO THE ENTIRE JOB on a very severe infection real fast. Case in point, me.
We are here for you, Bunny. Take whatever strength/good you can from this. It can be powerful stuff - the support here. It has been for This One.
