I have had peeling lips for over 10 years, although not as badly as you or many others. They used to be dry and cracked, often to the point of bleeding, but not to the point of scabbing. They peeled periodically after the skin exposed to saliva turned white. I think the cause is a fungus, because my hands and feet peel every spring, and a doctor told me that was caused by a fungus. Peeling my lips with my fingers - a nervous habit - could easily have spread the fungus to the skin of my lips.
The doctor told me that I could take medicine orally and use a salve in conjunction with the oral dose, and that would stop the fungus. However, you have to take it for six months if there are signs that it is in the toe area (thick nails), which I seem to have to a mild degree. Toe nails take 6 months to grow out, and you have to keep taking this medicine as long as the originally infected tissue exists. While I have the self-discipline to follow these directions, I hesitate to take any kind of medicine which kills living organisms, because I think it might kill some other organisms in my body which are helping me, like probiotic bacteria, or it might be toxic to my own healthy tissues. I am not well-informed on this, though. If you check the link above, you can read about all sorts of remedies tried by people, and some success stories.
I think there are a variety of causes for this condition, and each cause requires it's own cure. I think the same is true for the origin of liver/gallbladder stones.
I discovered that the dryness disappeared after eating salmon. Cooked or raw, it doesn't matter, so it isn't due to an enzyme deficiency. I had to eat salmon at least 3 times a week to maintain this healthy moisture, but as you know, it was worth it. It seems to be treatable with an essential oil.
I tried increasing my water intake to 8 - 10 cups a day, and that seemed to help keep the skin moist longer between salmon dinners. But they still turned white and peeled every 5 days or so.
I tried rubbing coconut oil on my lips. That seems to help them stay moist, particularly if I'm at work and too busy to keep up on water consumption. The effect seems to be only temporary, but then I just discovered this a few weeks ago. It is an easy form of treatment although it is not a cure.
I have been
Liver Flushing since around the end of last May, and have done 12 flushes so far. I noticed an improvement with skin complexion, particularly on the face, with the first flush. Since then, people have commented on how clear and vibrant my facial skin looks, and I've never received comments or compliments before of this nature.
It hasn't stopped the peeling lips, but the peeling doesn't seem to be as aggressive as it used to be. My lips are never dry anymore, even though I've cut back my consumption of salmon to maybe 3 times a month. I don't eat as much meat as I used to, and this might help. I'm not sure why the
Liver Flush seems to have helped, except that around the 9th flush I noticed that my face regained some of it's youthful colour, at first lasting only a few days, then with the next flush lasting 2 weeks, and with the last flush lasting, so far, 2 weeks (no sign yet of returning to the pasty yellow/white colour from before). So I think the skin is getting better circulation, and this might help the body fight the fungus naturally. Also, as the biliary system becomes clearer and toxins are removed from the body, the immune system is also clearing, including the lymphatic system. With less strain on the immune system, more energy is available to combat less threatening long-standing conditions of dis-ease in my body. I am guessing to some extent, and the people at the lip peeling forum are much better informed.
So, can the
Liver Flush help you? To a limited extent, yes, I think so. It can help you to at least moisturize and increase blood flow to your dry skin. Anything which acts to detoxify your body will help the body deal with illness. You could also ask the Colon cleansing forum (that also helps with skin conditions) and the
parasite forum (I would guess that a fungus infection is a parasite, although a microscopic one).
Other things you could try: The Tsetsi lime/egg/oil flush is gentler than the full flush, and seems to help the liver tissue regenerate as well. It has made my hair softer and added a mild tanned appearance to my skin. The energy boost which follows it alone is worth taking this mild liver flush, and if you are lucky, your body might also experience visible flushing of toxins and stones.
You could try various detoxing methods: metal detoxing (foot detox pads, chlorella), kidney cleansing (see the link for cleansing at the top of the page), detox baths (the simplest being 1 cup of magnesium sulfate, or
Epsom Salts , with 1 cup of bicarbonate of soda, or Baking Soda, in bath water as hot as you can take it, for 30 minutes, followed by a cool shower), drinking ozonated purified water or spring water from a mountainous source, and there is one essential oil mentioned in the lip peeling forum (sorry, can't remember) which many on that forum have credited with full recovery. I think experimenting with essential oils, applied directly to your lip skin, could be helpful, but check that forum to avoid wasting money and time on obvious duds.
Some people have cured their peeling lips. Some have partially cured their peeling lips. Many have struggled for years. Check that forum out for the best information.
Good luck!
