Information below was taken from Wikipedia. I have two brothers who served in WWII and was told that it was common instruction to use human urine on wounds in the absence of other antiseptic. This was also common knowledge before antibiotics (pre WWII). I have read Gandhi extensively including his method of eating and have never found that he ingested urine. However, I know from what I've read that a premier of India drank his own urine and lived to be 100 which was reiterated to me by my dermatologist (who was from India) to whom I related my own UT as an explanation of the cure of my skin problems which had gone for several years without improvement prior to UT.
From Wikipedia:
The use of urine therapy as a medical treatment or daily health regimen is uncommon. Aztec physicians used urine to clean external wounds to prevent infection, and administered it as a drink to relieve stomach and intestine problems. Purported beneficiaries of the 'urine cure' include Mohanda Gandhi, Jim Morrison, and Steve McQueen. Its medicinal properties have also been used in China as a part of holistic medicine, and in India, especially as part of the traditional Indian medicine, Ayuveda, under the name Amaroli.
Urine may contain proteins or other substances that are useful for medical therapy. Urine from postmenopausal women is rich in gonadotropins that can yield folicle stimulating hormone for fertility therapy. The first such commercial product was Pergonal.. Urine from pregnant women contains enough human chorionic gonadotropins for commercial extraction and purification to produce hCG medication. Pregnant mare urine is the source of estorgens, namely Premarin.
In recent times, the Port-a-John corporation of Utica, Michigan, has developed a filter to collect medically significant proteins from users of their chemical toilets.

Recently back from a tropical vacation, I noticed a raised bump on my face
that wasn't there before. It'd been 2 weeks and the bump had't gone away,
changed shape, nothing.
I'm a urine therapy skeptic and think it's actually kind of gross, but I do read
the info that comes in the newsletters. Sometimes more for entertainment than
anything else.
Curious, but very doubtful, I decided to try the "soaked bandaid on the
mole" theory on this bump on my face. So last week I saved some quality pee
(haha) and put the bandage on my face--at 7 a.m. By the time I got out of the
shower at 8:30 and removed the bandage (it got wet), THE BUMP WAS ALMOST GONE!!
I honestly couldn't believe it and I still can't imagine this had such a fast
affect! Could the bandage simply have moistened the spot and softened it? It's
not just soft, though, it's almost gone! I can no longer even see it in the
mirror, though I can feel a slight bump there.
I'm just shocked! Once again my misplaced skepticism has been shattered by
personal proof!
UPDATE: I used some of the same morning pee and put it on my face that night and
left it on overnight. That did not appear to make any difference, but, three
days later now, the bump is still as small as it was after the first (1 1/2
hour)treatment. It's nothing more than a slight blip on my face now.
Wow, who knew my pee was so valuable? LOL
"I wonder if I could drink my babies' pee?"
I have read that there are mothers who take their baby's pee only diapers, and rub it on their face as a toner. Kidding or not, it works!
