What I have learned from my well water testing is that just pouring energized water from JE machine does not remove the chemical that continues to pollute my well. This chemical is continuously flowing into the wells in my area from barrels that are buried somewhere in the area and leaking into the groundwater and wells. The energized water does reduce the level of TCEs for a short period of time, but it also flows out of the well, so I would have to continuously add energized water to the well to make a long term effect on removing the TCE chemical. This may be possible by having the cap to my well fitted with an adaptor so a hose could be connected and run the engerized water into the well daily. In the spring I will pour 10 gallons daily down the well for 30 days and then test the water to see if the TCE levels are lowered or hopefully gone. It is winter in Minnesota so this is too hard to do until spring. For me it would be worth the daily treatment of my well if I could keep this chemical out of my well. I ran water from my well through the JE machine and it did remove the TCEs, but I had to hand pour the water into the machine and that doesn't help the whole house water supply (sinks, showers).
As for a Potassium Permangenate whole house system to purify the water I don't know what it's affects are. I know that a whole house Granular Activated Carbon Filter system removes the TCE chemical that is polluting my well. The problem I have is that this chemical continues to leak into the groundwater and wells in a large area around me for over 20 years and to date the barrels have not been located. The levels of this chemical and the area it is pollutes continues to grow. So the short term answer is to have the filtration system on all water that enters my home. The long term answer is to find a way to remove this chemical and other chemicals and pollutants in the water. There are buried barrels of toxic chemicals all across this country that are leaking or will start leaking at any time. They are polluting water long before it is known. Many times they are never found so the pollution continues and spreads for decades.
My advice to you would be to have your well water tested by a lab for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)and call your Pollution Control Agency to ask if there are any known chemicals polluting water in your area. There are so many compounds that it is impossible to test for everything, but if you have an idea of what could be in your water you can specify that it is one of the things specifically tested for.
As for the water that JE's machine puts out, I say it tastes GREAT. It is very clear and fresh. Time does not appear to affect the freshness of the water. It tastes just as good 2 weeks after I make it.
The machine is expensive and there is a lot of 'unanswered' questions about what the water can and will do both as far as cleaning water and possible health benefits of drinking this 'energized water'. I have not had my machine long enough to determine what is true and what is hype. What I know is from having my water tested at a lab for TCE contamination. The machine does appear to make great drinking water.
Email me if I can answer further questions about treating my well or lab testing.
I hope my experience is of some help.
