We're here because we're sick.
Or because we have knowledge that we believe can help heal.
Our opinions are based upon information that we have learnt and understood and that may have helped us, they fit into our innate understanding and beliefs about life and the world around us. We absorb information that fits within our paradigm, or that challenges it so much we change our ways completely. The knowledge that helps us is not only related to our mental state and our personal beliefs but also to our biology and our chemisty, what works for one may kill another, no matter the will.
So, I have a problem (other than being sick)
Im confused, bemused, baffled, flummoxed, flustered, mixed-up, nonplussed and perplexed...
I read, I read a lot. I look to each expert and knowledable person and ask and read and examine what they say. Its the historian in me, one piece of evidence is not enough, one opinion is too few.
But what, then, do you do when respected opinions contradict one another, when one says: 'Drink distilled!' and another claims it will leach the minerals from your body and cause you pain and ultimately death? And both of them believe they are correct.
Then you research, and some people say its the safest best water - that it will only leach inorganic minerals, some people say its ok as long as you remineralise the water, some people say that the body responds to it with increased white cell production - as though as toxin has been introduced into the system.
How is one supposed to choose? Rock minerals in solution and the milk of the mountains gave great health and longevity to many tribes and peoples, but some claim it will calcify you and cause tissues to stiffen and you to suffer.
Who is 'right'?
Who has the 'truth'?
How am I (are we) to know who and what to pick, I cant simply keep trying all the derivations of knowledge and opinion. Healing one thing till another breaks, never finding the path for me because I dont always belive in it because I know of the opposing and comparitively valid contradictory opinions of others.
This isnt simply about distilled water, its about everything. All the different ideas and ways of finding health, the opinions from healthy people who have cured their disease. I really dont want the rest of my life to be filled with simply trying to be well, I want to LIVE and LIVE outside of this box searching for health. Health is the starting block from which all other experiences and ideas and notions must surely spring?!
Bah, I ramble on and on.
Im just confused! How is one to pick the right path, how is one to follow it to completion whilst trying to live a life within society? Without totally abandoning all my friends who drink and eat burgers but who I love and couldnt do without?
I cant follow the ideas of any one person I dont think, but I cant walk my own path?!
What am I supposed to do?
How did those who have chosen a path towards health pick their tutors? When did they decide whose knowledge would and could work for them? Within the boundaries of money, accessibility or intergration into existing lifetyle?
Bugger.
It might be easier if I knew exactly what was wrong, I guess...

This is a reply to # 804,629That's the problem with information overload -
There are plenty of ways to health and plenty of ways to disease - if you choose to follow all the protocols available (some are antagonists), you are putting your body on a rollercoaster ride - all at the cost of placing priority of an opinion or advice over what your body is crying for.
Even reading all the maladies and concerns that everyone here has is putting mental stress on your body - sometimes up to a point of manifesting "sympathy symptoms"
With placing conscious energy onto so many protocols and valid opinions, you may start to disrupt the natural subconscious healing and cleansing that your body does effortlessly.
Although no longer simpler, the trick would be to obey the nature of your body and listen to what it's telling you versus the overwhelming info out there.
I'm curious to know to what degree does the spending of energy reading and immersing oneself into dis-ease has on the actual physical malady.
After all, one is placing daily energy onto the disease, and as per law of attraction, one may get the object in his conscious focus.

because it points out the obvious
Separation of your self form the "illness" creates a polarity
that is not true and
attracts more of the thoughts about the illness
It's a tough one
But the more access to neutrality you have the better your progress
You know the doctor who did the laugh therapy during his cancer
what is his name?
I might try that for all illess
and see if you can't clear you energy fields

I have been too at times, and might still have a little confusion here and there; you are not alone...

Put one foot in front of the other... At times, I make concessions to social endeavors for my own and family's "health". But I have been on this road for a few years now and I hardly attend a social function where MY friends have not put out the raw and\or healthy food options for me, so they are making concessions too :-)

You must walk your own path. I have incorporated a little of this and a little of that into my health regimen. There is nothing wrong with that. In fact, that is what we must all do. Find what works, resonates with you and do it. If you get results, remember and learn... if you do not, remember, so that you do not move that direction again, and move on.

When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Are you ready? It IS quite by accident really; and then again NOT...

After self experimentation, giving it a fair and realistic run. I find that far too many people seem to try something for a few days or even a few weeks and give up due to no effect OR an effect that makes them feel worse, which could in fact be a healing reaction. This is what I hate to see the most as the individual may be passing up on a real healing course. Of course if the reaction is too strong the sensible thing to do would be to back off of the protocol a little and see what happens first before abandoning it altogether.

This is a difficult question... I would work diligently on changing diet first as I have done, and am still doing. This may cost more initially in "purchase" price and\or labor, HOWEVER, it will save you gobs in the long run (no doctor bills, no sick time) and reward you with good health.
Outside of the cleanses, diet change is the single most important step that all too many people stumble with. My diet is not perfect and as I said, I do make occasional concessions, however have not been sick in over 2 years and hope to keep it that way.
Many here will tell you, let your food be your medicine and I concur. Be sure to plant, harvest, and\or buy the highest quality foods you can find, your mind, body, and soul will all thank you with a revitalized life and awareness. Eat healthy fats, natural sugars, and real salts and you will go far. - Re: The right and the wrong, the tru... finallyfaith

This is a reply to # 804,629understand that the power that heals you comes from within. its your mind, your heart, your will; its the creative, sustaining Spirit that flows thru you, these are the things that heal. start, and stand, firmly on that knowledge.
as for the specific protocols and conflicting "experts" - the answer is very simple. you have GOT to get in touch with your body. you have to learn to feel your body on a deep deep level. once you do this you will be able to feel almost instantly what is healing and what is toxic. what helped me get in touch with my body was juice fasting and meditation, along with liver and kidney cleansing.
then you have to try different things. try this, try that, try the other thing. then, as you try the different protocols, be very aware of how they are affecting you. pay very close attention to both the immediate and long term reactions your body has to specific foods and herbs and protocols.
also be aware that at one point on your healing journey one specific protocol may be jsut what you need. on another part of your healing journey a very different protocol may be called for. YOU need to become the ultimate expert on YOUR body. YOU have to get in touch with your body and learn what your body needs right now. do that, and let all the experts and arguers do their thing.
you should NOT give up your frinds. they are where they are, you are where you are. let them be in their space, don't even bring up the health food subject unless they insist. you can almost always find something on a menu somewhere to eat while others are filling themselves with toxic food. don't condemn them, accept them and enjoy their company. laughter, good company, good stories, and human sharing of thoughts and love are the BEST medicine, better than any food or herb.

This is a reply to # 804,629i cant add much to what has already been said by these fine folk. it is entirely up to you to find your own way. you also must decide what it is you want. some of these differing protocols differ because the goals are different. they both meet their objectives so they are both valid. one may simply a method for relief from a symptom. another may be a method to acheive a long range goal in spite of symptoms, such as the infamous herxheimer effect, also known as a healing crisis.
everyone here has chased symptoms. everyone here has sought a diagnosis. everyone here has had to choose their own right way. i am sure you will do so too.
an aside - my focus is quite along the lines of MH, and that is longevity with no loss of function both physically and mentally. that is why i choose distilled. ;)
