Here is my story. Perhaps it will ring true with you. I sincerely hope it helps someone:
I had chronic sinusitis and was prescribed A LOT of
Antibiotics before I knew better. These caused an imbalance and gave me Candida. Following a protocol of natural antifungals and probiotics, I was able to get rid of most the Candida. I felt somewhat better, but not completely. Then I was tested for
food allergies and found I had a ton. That is when I started to seriously examine leaky gut. I've now added digestive enzymes, glutamine, and colostrum to my regimen. The digestive enzymes literally made me feel better within an hour. About 2 months on this regimen and I feel like a new person.
Digestive enzymes digest our food properly so less proteins leak out of the gut, which is why I got such immediate relief. They also breakdown the membranes of the Candida and I have seen fluffy white stuff in the toilet as a result.
Like many of you, I also felt somewhat better on the diet. I think it was because when I cut out difficult to digest whole grains (many of which I have tested allergic to), and added easier to digest simple proteins, my leaky gut wasn't as much of an issue. As soon as I added the whole grains back, I felt bad again. People assume that the carbs are "feeding" the Candida, when in fact it is leaky gut. So many people here stay on the diet and antifungals and they still don't feel better. IMHO these people have conquered Candida for the most part, but they still have their leaky gut. The symptoms are so similar, it is hard to tell the differnce. Very likely, they also have undiagnosed
food allergies .
I know I still have a long way to go. But I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. My message is don't assume it is just Candida. Research leaky gut. It can be healed.
