I don't know if this is normal or not. I wrap a small piece of white paper towel to cover the pipe once then put Sea Salt water on it (mixed at 1 cup water & 1 teas. Sea Salt ) After I'm done zapping I notice discoloration where the clip hooks to the pipe. It almost looks like rust. Sometimes there is a greenish tint if I let the towel dry on the pipe. Does that sound right ? I'm not giving myself copper poisoning are anything am I ? These are just left-over regular copper plumbing pipes I got at Home Depot for a trellis I made.

This is a reply to # 78,856It's important to change the paper toweling after each zapping otherwise you will drive copper into your system via your skin as it comes through and concentrates in the toweling.
The discoloration of the toweling is copper ions being driven into the paper towel due to current. This has also fueled my concern about zapping with a mouth full of metal/mercury. The same process can happen there but to a less extent because of several factors, one being proximity. I zap on my feet and abdomen. I contacted Hulda's people about this concern and they said they haven't done any tests one way or another regarding this but sugested to zap on my feet to be sure.

This is a reply to # 78,857Thanks Lapis...I do use a new towel everyday. Do you mean I should use a new towel before each 7 minute session...like 3 changes per day ? I only zap my feet because I also have metal in my mouth.-

This is a reply to # 78,860I made my zapper too. I also have the oxidation problem. It's good that you have Dr. Clarks homemade Zapper. I gave mine to my sister and got an other one. This one is not as good. Be glad you didn't spend money on a new one. The homemade one is strong in that it kill things faster.

But I decided to have my husband make another one for me. Here's a picture of it. I think it's the cutest little thing. It's in a plastic jewelry box. Serves the purpose just fine I think !

This is a reply to # 78,866Clary...wow! Does that ever look cool! I had no idea what Zapper's look like....I love the way yours looks! I think I'm going to have to get my boyfriend to make one. My mom was trying to buy one through a local-ish site, but they were all out...
Thanks for posting that pic. I've heard ladyblooom say that she liked her homemade zapper the best...and now that I've seen yours - I think I'll get one made for myself.
Now to find the plans to build my own....

Your husband is very supportive: their was a lot of love put into that little thing. Your right, it is darling.
My zapper, was in a big shoe box. Because I made it, it was unstable. When I mailed my old one to my sister, it needed to be rewired. Telling someone -over the phone- how to rewire something is hard. I am not mechanically inclined and didn't really know what I was talking about. Thanks for sharing the picture of your zapper. I will may make another one for mysself.

Ladybloom I can't imagine even attempting to tell someone how to re-wire something over the phone...what a nightmare. Mine is all soldered together onto a little piece of board like stuff with holes in it. Aside from the wires going to the little screws, the LED, switch and battery the whole thing only takes up about an inch maybe an inch and a half.

This is a reply to # 78,860The oxidation will occur with any copper. Some have used silver bars, and some use brass.

This is a reply to # 78,875I met Dr. Loyd in Seattle a few months back (http://www.royalrife.com). I got a demonstration with the F-Scan that he uses his practice and also sells. When he handed me the electrodes I asked him about the wet paper towels. He said they were not needed because the F-Scan electrodes were gold plated and would not transfer ions like the copper would.

This is a reply to # 78,860The green color is copper chloride.
It is produced by the reaction of copper and salt ( sodium chloride ) and is toxic.
Therefore: always wash your hands after zapping, discard tinted paper towels, if you use cloth wraps or socks wash them thouroughly.

This is a reply to # 78,864Marti, Since I made mine I don't have directions with it...But if your directions say that there must be a reason. Somewhere I thought I read to use salt water. But I think tonight I'll wash the copper real good and use plain water and see if the same discoloration happens. I don't believe I read the salt water thing in Dr. Clarks book...I think it was in someone's post and now that I think about it maybe it was for zappers with wrist bands ?

This is a reply to # 78,865the directions that came with mine said if you use the hands free zapper version that uses the conductive pads to use the salt water solution (1 tsp Sea Salt in one cup of boiled water, allow to cool, save in sealed container)
With the copper pipes, "Cover the pipes with wet (plain water) paper towel or cotton cloth."
Also, "When zapping for extended peiords, make sure the paper towel remains wet with the salt solution for the entire time (plain water if using the pipes)"
I have only used my zapper 2 times, but have had no discoloration. Good luck. Let us know if any difference.

This is a reply to # 78,869Thanks Marti, Well I used it without the salt last night and guess what ? Only a tiny spot of discoloration where the clip hooks on. Think I'll wet sand the pipes to make sure they're really clean. The salt water made a little residue where the pipes were attached that didn't just wash off with water. That must be what's causing the slight discoloration I'm still getting.
