MoreThis question may seem a little odd, but I know very little about CS. I've heard that it is a bacteria killer. So my question is this...if I soak in a tub with CS (just the "affected" area so to speak) do you think this could help eradicate a UTI?- Re: Silver for UTI purelove

This is a reply to # 786,608It's funny you posted this message now...I just got back from my naturopath. I was seeing her about my 19-month old daughter, her immune system's been weakened from too many Antibiotics and recently she had a bad UTI with a temp. One of the things she gave me to help support her immune system (until she can get back in balance) is 500ppm Colloidal Silver . In addition to giving it orally, she said I could dab some on her "private" area once in a while to kill any e. coli on the outside.
But once someone has an UTI the bacteria has already travelled up the urinary tract and is inside the body. So bathing in it won't kill the bacteria inside the body.
I'm no expert but from what the naturopath said, the CS used on the skin would only be a preventative for further bacteria from going up the urinary tract.

MoreThis is a reply to # 786,616Hmmm...very interesting. I will have to research this further to find out how often I can apply this topically as a preventative method. I'll do it every single day for the rest of my life if I can! I have suffered from this chronic condition for about 18 years, getting at least 5 per year. If you have any other information about topical application of CS, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks so much for your reply!

You can use it topically for pinkeye, (me and my daughter) topically as deoderant, for yeast infections. You can use it for odors on the body, or in laundry, sanitizing counters or even a quick spray on your hands.
I have used it orally for UTI's, strep throat, stomach ailments, colds. And have eliminated the need for Antibiotics or doctors visits. I have used it on my cat when he was urinating blood and lethargic, and after 2 days he was out hunting ground squirrels..........Its amazing stuff - Re: Silver for UTI purelove

This is a reply to # 786,670The naturopath said to take a clean cloth, toilet paper, whatever, and put a little CS on it (put the cloth over the opening of the bottle and flip over quick), then to just pat the perineal (sp?) area.
We're pretty new to CS too so I hope it works for both of us!!
You may also want to think about a probiotic to help replace the good bacteria in your intestines. If you've been taking a lot of Antibiotics for the UTI's, they kill all the bacteria, good and bad, in your intestines. So replacing the good bacteria (probiotics) will allow your body to create a balance of bacteria and yeasts that's ideal.

This is a reply to # 786,616The fastest way to get relief immediately is ALKA SELTZER that is right very fast acting! For Adults start taking 2 oz of Collodial silver on an empty stomach 3 to 4 times a day, and for children much less. Then begin drinking real cranberry juice with no Sugar because this basically doesn't allow any of the bacteria a chance to multiply by sticking to your bladder the cranberry easily flushes all the bacteria out of your system easily.

This is a reply to # 786,608I get UTI's BAD, like a freight train, and after a few swallows of CS, I am a ton better....
I would take an ounce at a time every hour and follow it with some water or juice, and after 2 doses, I would be amaxingly better, I have done this 4 times now in the last year.....
I wouldnt worry about bathing in it, take it orally and maybe use a spray bottle for the outside, works for yeast too!!!- Re: Silver for UTI #41554

This is a reply to # 786,675Spray as much as needed. You cant OD on silver, and its not bad for your skin UNLESS you are allergic to silver
I am experimenting right now on acne. I have been getting Acne on my back and chest lately, dont know if from stress or what.....Thi morning I had a rather large painful one, I sprayed silver on every 1/2 hour and let it dry. This is a reply to # 786,608The natural pathways for elimination of CS are primarily via the lymph->skin and kidney->bladder. Average duration is 3-5 days; this is what makes CS so effective.
By hanging out in the lymph for a while it stops bacterial overgrowth there and stops viruses. The other elimination pathway is kidney->bladder and that all by itself will clean up a UTI in time by disallowing further infection.
Pretty sure I read that on http://www.silvermedicine.org.
Homemade CS in low PPM is best because the particle size is smaller so invest a few bucks in a CS machine or splurge and get a Silver Pulser CS/Blood Purifier…

This is a reply to # 786,608Have you tried D-Mannose for your UTI? I also have had chronic problems with this and D-Mannose is a life saver. I know longer take antibotics for them. I buy mine the NOW brand at iherb.com. It seems to be the least expensive place that I have found. Do a google search on D-Mannose. It works wonders!

I went to buy it at the WholeFoods (WholePaycheck) store once for this very reason, but the woman there said that she wouldn't recommend it. Go figure. So do you use it for prevention or cure? And what dosage do you use (daily?)? Thanks for your advice!

This is a reply to # 787,086I was using D-mannose for my daughter as a natural cure before I knew of the silver. I was using it in conjunction with Vitamin C (to keep the bladder acidic) cranberry chewables (for obvious reasons) and the D-mannose. The only prblem with the D-mannose is that it ONLY washes out the e-coli infections. So what started to happen is my daughter would get more complicated infections that required the stronger Antibiotics .......She has spina bifida so UTI's come with the territory. I have done lots of research on everything she can use to help prevent these things, and the daily dose of silver has been the ONLY thing that has helped

This is a reply to # 787,086Why did the girl at Whole Foods not recommend it? I have taken it on/off for about 8 months or so with no problems. I researched it pretty thoroughly and found no negative information regarding it. I take it when I feel an infection coming on and continue for about a week or so after, shortening the dosage as I go. It has worked wonders for me! It sure beats going to the doctor and taking antibotics :) I'm not at all familar with the silver . . . I'll have to look into that as well.

This is a reply to # 787,446The WholeFoods girl just said it was never effective when she has tried it for a UTI. Generally when this happens to me (which is OFTEN), I need immediate relief as it comes on like a freight train. As far as the CS, I just recently heard about using that and from this thread and the one above this...it seems to be quite effective. I will try anything at this point, but it needs to be strong, quick, and effective. I actually have an appointment with a urologist on Monday. The last time I consulted with one, he said that I would just have to suffer through my "headaches down there"....condescending old prick. HA!

This is a reply to # 787,557D-Mannose has always been a quick relief for me. I have awoken with a bad UTI and taken the D-Mannose all morning, by the afternoon it feels like I didn't have one at all. I continue to take it for about a week or so to make sure all the critters have left. When I first discovered it, I thought it was too good to be true! I know that it works for the three out of four types of bacteria that cause UTI's, which is 99% of the population. Maybe the girl in the store didn't take it properly or was the fourth type of bacteria that it didn't work for. Sometimes my bladder hurts or feels uncomfortable, in which I will use a castor oil pack and a heating pad. This is just what has worked for me, I hope you will find something that will work for you. I know exactly how miserable it is!! Take Care
