It's alright - with careful attention to detail, you will be able to get rid of them AND their eggs. Yes, do a good parasite cleanse right away. Wash your underclothing and bedsheets in HOT WATER everyday - start that now and continue it for up to a week after the cleanse. Also, when cleaning your bedroom and bathroom surfaces, use an antibacterial type cleaner such as a Lysol product or even a diluted bleach product to wipe down surfaces. Dust, vacumme and mop everyday too - then disinfect the mop and broom and change the vacumme bag. Pinworms eggs can become airborne and can live in your home without a host for over 2 days. Of course, they are microscopic, but you can prevent them from REINFECTING you.

Also make sure to wash your hands with hot water and soap after every trip to the restroom. You might also want to get one of those plastic/vinyl type mattress covers for your bed so that it can be wiped down daily too. I hope this helps!

Oh pinworms... agh. One of my kids has had them twice.

We've had good results using Pin-X (I ordered it from Drugstore.com) and washing everything in hot water. Also if you get into the habit of washing your hands when you come in the house from anywhere else that has helped keep us from getting colds/flue/reinfected. Clorox disinfecting wipes are an easy way to keep the bathroom sanitized... swipe one around every time you're in there right before you wash your hands, and you're good to go. I actually do not like using Lysol, because it gets into your lungs.
