You are perfectly right about caution when parting with cash.

When confronted with 'upsells', etc., we just tell the truth...we don't have any money. The whiter a person's hair, the more they believe you.

But we don't dodder. We are the fiesty kind of seniors. (Grin!)

As for one practitioner we've visited, he was smack on in his assessments (I've never seen better), but sometimes had a pre-limited view-point, that didn't fulfill our needs. As in all our friendships, empathy is needed. Perhaps some practitioners are too involved with their books and learning.

One more point that interests me is that tapwater may contain too much copper, if the water has sat in the pipes, especially for people with copper/zinc imbalances.

Also, the water management people may add a copper substance to the drinking water supply to control algae. That water may have truly not been good for you. Just a guess.

I suppose there may be nothing for it but to learn to test for ourselves.

Water in the most yin element. This means it can hold charge like no other substance. The charge may be a physical characteristic..like a parasite frequency, or it may be an emotion like dissapointment or hate, or it could be a set of function frequencies like congested lymph which would entail excess lymphocytes, acidic interstital fluid and a messed up nitrogen balance. Water from a filter is not always pure. Reverse Osmosis water is void of minerals and can ellicit a weak response. Water filtered by solid carbon can still contain fungi and microscopic parasites, and the energy of fungi and microscopic parasites may still be present. Even solid carbon water may contain any number of minerals and pollutants if it was not RO'ed. If it was carbon filtered treated tap water it may conatin residues of so many things too list I would run out of space. The bottles may contain the leftover residues of whatever was in them...smell a salsa jar after it has been washed 10 times and it will still smell of salsa. The only way to be sure that the water is truly pure is to RO it, UV steralize it, ozonate it, remineralize it with alkaline minerals along with the 72 trace elements present in living organisms and then one must harmonize the water with love and gratitude by blessing it with sound vibration or written vibration on the container. Whoa way too much effort. So we muscle test water to see if its good for us. Bring in samples of your water. Put your filtered water in a washed out chemical container. Put it in a new jar. Put it in a cheap supplement container from the drug store. Write a blessing on a two containers. In one container put a bit of food you're allergic to along with the water and in the other container put only water. I can clear tiolet water with my homeopathic remedy maker meaning I can make water that once tested weak because of pollutants and waste now test strong because the machine clears all frequency from the water. If I place the same water in the sun the polluted frequency will return in a little while and the water will again test weak. So you see water is not just some element. It is pure crystallized yin energy. The only water I have found to always test strong is Wellness water from a Wellness filter. They are approved by the Japanese ministry of HEalth for the prevention of disease and are used in cancer hospitals in Japan.
Working with energy can be flawless and it can be tricky. There are many laws beyond what basic physics says. There are refined forms of energy pertaining to lifeforce that are so subtle we have few ways of directly experiencing them, yet they can create profound effects in the physical realm. I still don't understand how my homeopathics clear fungus and parasites from the body so quickly, sometimes faster than the herbs. I have tested before and after immunoglobulin levels, antibody levels and so on with the homeopathics and rarley does the body show increases, via lab testing, in the immune system's response towards these critters. So why do they disappear? I don't know. I rely on the quantuum field to pitch in and if it works, YEAH.
