Hi,
I just happened upon this site while googling for something else. Upon reading your message I thought I might be able to offer some help, and hope.
I had vertigo problems ever since I was a child. Between about 10 and 6 years ago, I used to have a prostrating vertigo attack every four months or so, and was ususlly slightly dizzy all the rest of the time. Doctors had little success helping me, and basically prescribed Antivert to make me less nauseous.
About 6 years ago I heard that medical research hinted that mineral deficiencies might contribute to inner-ear problems. I'm not talking vitamins; everybody takes those, and your body is even able to manufacture them. The minerals I'm talking about are the elements on the periodic table. (Since I'm a chemistry teacher, I hope you remember what that is!) It made sense to me that mineral deficiencies might help explain why so many more people have vertigo than used to. Most of the plant material we eat comes from large agricultural firms that grow the same crops over and over and gradually deplete the soil of specific minerals. For instance, even though spinach might look the same as it did 50 years ago, if most of the iron has been taken out of the soil then our bodies are simply not getting the iron that our ancestors did. (But didn't they farm the same land over and over? Yes, but they didn't have flood control like we do and so their soil was replenished every so many years by flood deposits.)
Anyway, I figured there was no harm in taking mineral supplements. I started buying liquid minerals from a multilevel marketing company. I didn't notice any difference right away, but after about 6 weeks I realized one day that I felt a bit better. It's now been at least 6 years, and I am thrilled to realize that I haven't had a single prostrating vertigo attack since I started taking liquid minerals. My equilibrium is almost always fine too.
I sound like a salesman, don't I? Well, I'm not. I quit dealing with that multilevel company when I found out I could get liquid minerals at Sam's for half the price. I'nm sure other places carry them too. They come in a 32 ounce bottle, and you take about 1 ounce a day per hundred pounds of body weight. Depending on your size, that's 1 or 2 bottles a month, for under ten dollars each.
If you're still having vertigo troubles, give liquid minerals a try for about 6 weeks and see if you feel better. If not, it will have cost you 20 or 30 dollars. If so, you'll get your life back. I did.
Hope this helps.
