Years ago when I first got into raw foods I read about the Essene Gospel of Peace, which was written by a group of monks (I could be getting this wrong, but I think this is how it went), and Jesus was deeply involved in this way of living according to the text. They ate raw food, lots of sprouts, wheatgrass and fruit I think. I think they lived in an isolated community far from towns etc, and lived the purest of lives, with Jesus amoung them. Eating fruit was regarded highly because it didn't involve killing or damaging the plant.
And another thing, Jesus was a Jew, so perhaps he assumed the soon to be Christians would follow the Jewish laws of food combining etc, which are very detailed and strict. It is the strange, or maybe just indulgent, choice of the Christians to disregard laws that Christ himself probably followed, as far as food was concerned. Or perhaps this was the earliest of the cover-ups of truth by the power hungry establishment, who wanted the populous to be weak willed and easy to manipulate, as the unhealthy are. Perhaps little has changed in 2000 years!!?
