Hey I am not expert but this is what I am doing.
Maybe you just jumped into it too fast? Did you do anything to prepare? I preapred a bit.. Cut down to mostly just salads. Granted they were grilled chicken full tomato, crutons, sprouts, pea pods, tons of cheese, etc.... I mixed my 2 fave dressings ranch and italian for a super tangy taste. A good fatty salad can be the best tasting thing in the world.
I went as long as I could without eating. I tried to make it til 3pm everyday... That puts a damper on the hunger pangs... and helps shrink your stomach so that when its going to be empty for a while its not a major notion..
Also the whole reason you are losing weight is because your body is going into ketosis. The fat burning cycle. Carbs stop this immediatly.. You can test this with ketone strips you pee on.
If you cheat don't eat carbs. That bun was prob the worst cheat choice you could have made LOL I don't even know how many calories were in that.
Get used to NOT eating everything on your plate. Like that bunn for instance take a few bites and throw it away. That way you cheated but you didn't eat it all and that is something to be proud of the will power it took to throw it away.
Get yourself a couple bags of salad mix. Have a handful. You can have 4 servings of salad bag and still be under 50 calories.. You can even drizzle dressing on it. This won't take you out of ketosis. Once you go out of ketosis it can take 2 days to get back into fat buring ketosis. Lettuce has no carbs and is like 15 calories per 1 1/2 cup. When your starving it tastes like a steak and potatoes LOL Also a half can on tuna fish on it for a treat can be really something. No carbs again and low low calorie.. tastes like heaven...
Anything under 400 calories is still fasting... Everywhere you go seems to say something different about that but I stay under 100-50. If your on a juice diet and the juices your slammin are full of calories your not really going into ketosis. I'm not doing juice.. Fruit juice is full of carbs and full of calories.. Not that it doesn't work but I had some success with low carbin and fruits were a no no because they kill your ketosis.
Green Tea tastes awesome. It's so refreshing. Once you start slammin jugs of it its all you want.. PLus it's prob the best thing you can put in your body.. When your fasting your not getting any electrolyes which is painful for your body. Green tea is full of them. You won't feel so drained and you won't feel hungry. Wihtout electrlytes you die.. Scareyyyyyyyyy So it keeps your body running and keeps you from going into starvation mode that shuts down your metabolism. Any grocery store carries it. Don't boil it or you'll kill the good stuff in it. Slammin a galon or 2 of gree tea a day will keep ya running prime.
If your going to have a handful of salad do it around 3 or 4 pm and eat nothing after that so you have the rest of the day to kill it off. Or eat a few handfulls a day but space them out.
Get outside and do something. If your not getting outside your missing the (and I don't want to sound like a dork) the spirituality of the fast itself.
Also I get invited to go here and go there where I know people are going to be cooking and eating etc... I don't go.. Just stay away.. You know you might order a cinnabun so don't even go. Don't put yourself in that position to let yourself down you know. If they are your pals they will understand.. If they push then they aren't respecting what you are trying to do for yourself. You know? At least don't go for your first week. Until you are well on your way..
Also I am 6ft tall. I am going to lose more then a shorter person.. A lb of fat to me and a lb of fat to you are differnt things you know. A larger body can burn it off faster.
Plus most of the first loss is water which is hiding in your fat. I say SOWHAT I still have to fit that water in my jeans LOL I was 6lbs a day and yesterday I was only 3 so you know it is slowing down..
I am 60 lbs everweight.. Well 50 something now but you know? When they do the serving size and calorie intake per day they are doing it for a 5 ft 7 women not a 6ft tall one..
Also don't be too hard on yourself.. I know you can do this.. You just aren't in the mindset yet.. Make these decisions to stay away from this stuff until you are strong. Have something in the fridge (salad, veg etc) that you can eat if you falter. Something you won't feel so bad about. Make sure you take your vitamins. I take a multi in the morning and inthe afternoon. Helps keep up your metabolism so you burn faster. You body doesn't think its starving..
I am not doing this to clean my colon.. There isn't really any scientific evidence that fasting cleans your colon. I am doing this to lose weight so lettuce and under 100-50 calories is OK for me..
You don't have to be the WATER ONLY chick. You can make your own fast taylored to you. Don't set your expectations so high.. Lets face it even though you ate a cinnabun it's still well under 2000 calories and you still did great for the day! Just find something low cal that you dig and run to that keep it close incase you need it... For me its salad bags.. For you it could
Celery with cream cheese or whatever your into.. Your still fasting.. If your having trouble with hunger pangs coffee or caffeine can really help. I know slammin that green tea keeps them away it has a small amount of caffeine.
Also and this seems silly but CHEW GUM!!! Chewing gum makes your body release emzymes.. Too much can injure your tummy lining but getting those enzymes to clean ya out is a good thing..
I don't want to sound like a know it all but this is what is working for me.. It has only been 4 days though remmeber. I mean this could all slow down to the 1 lb a day your supposed to lose.
Everyone is going to have different results. Be positive and get hyped up on it.. Get excited.. It's not easy but the rewards and the pride are priceless.
