MoreThis is a reply to # 670,094I believe most times she hits the nail right on the head, and sometimes it hurts...but quite often she gets her callers to think and make some necessary changes in their lives.

MoreThis is a reply to # 670,094I think she enjoys her life on her moral high horse and doesn't practice what she preaches. Kind of the Rush Limbaugh type...loves the sound of her own voice but often time misses the point of somebody's problem just to get her own point across for ratings. Answers are rarely that simple in reality. Plus her voice just grates on my nerves.

This is a reply to # 670,094i know some people like her and get a lot out of her program and that is fine.
but i find her to be grating and archly morlastic and she simply refuses to listen to some people. she seems like someone who is always in rigid control of her own emotions and thinks other people should be too. just not for me. plus she looks like a cadaver. - Re: What do you all think of Dr Laur... This is a reply to # 670,094I love her. She helped me to understand how my wrong thinking was causing much of my misery. I was blaming an awful lot of the lousy stuff which was going on in my life, on others. By listening to her calls and resonses I began to see how important personal responsibility is...and to stop blaming others and take control of my life.
Yes, at first I thought she was a bit harsh and truly uncaring. Then, I heard her answer a similar objection on one of her shows and it made all the sense in the world.
Her answer to the objection was that on her show she has a very limited amount of time to guide someone into proper thinking toward their situation. Sometimes, being hard nosed was needed to get the person's attention and focus it on the part of the problem that that person needed to change the most.
When you listen to her, if you are truly openminded about her style, you will see that she does truly care about the person she is helping. And no...she doesn't have patience for whiners and non-backbone types. But that's okay.

This is a reply to # 670,104I see her as, and not just because of the varied answers, sometimes getting the point and sometimes missing it.
On one call she really helped a person short and simply and this helped me in my own situations in life. It was about someone who had offended another person behind their back. Dr Laura said to just let it go, and stop communicating altogether. She quickly summed it up as the person being a rude idiot and how could you explain anything to a rude idiot? -lol-
Another call was a woman who was telling Dr Laura her husband had informed the wife about an attempted affair. The husband goes away for some reason I didnt catch that part, but goes to hotels and gets massages, and the last massage the woman tried to seduce him. He told his wife that he stopped her, the wife in turn was furious and heartbroke. The wife, then was chewed out by Dr Laura because the wife should be happy and the husband should be a hero!
What the wife said is she wanted him to stop going to hotels and getting strange women to massage him! ( I agree 100% )
So she was shredded on air by Dr Laura because everyone goes to hotels and everyone sometimes gets a massage by a professional legitimate individual. I disagree.
Sometimes she tells it how it is though and its funny! She is keen on marriage which I think is cool. Has some good points, and some points that dont ring with me.

This is a reply to # 670,094It is very rude and destructive for any woman to consciously say anything negative to anyone, including herself. No woman is to say, "Oh, I am ugly: I am a very sick person." You will attract sympathy with these tantrums all right, but it will destroy your mental creativity. The correct attitude is to protect your mental creativity. "I am a grateful woman, I am the center of the entire creation, and everybody is born from me. I am the Universe." That is the minimum attitude you need.

This is a reply to # 670,094I love her!!!! She has really made me see things that I just couldnt see so clearly. It is so nice that she has her shows on daily and I look forward to listening to her. Not everyone you will agree with 100% because it is not humanly possible but we can all take what will work for us and put it into action.

This is a reply to # 670,134ok, I had no clue who Dr Laura was and so I googled 'Dr Laura' and I got up a load of naked pictures of her.... looks like her when she was younger and.... well, less blonde....
and yes, she kinda does look like a cadaver....
