Definitely he is depressed!!! Talking to men usually doesn't work! They get very defensive. Simple small steps is a way to go. First you need to see why he is depressed. Sometimes we just don't see reason to live, and we get depressed, don't want to do anything good, but just kill time. TV, video games and food are best things to kill time, while we are depressed.
Then addiction to games, that happens, and we always need to give our spouses some time they can spend by themselves, but... playing years EQ? That is too much.
1. Find out what are the dissapointments in your husbands life.
2. Take small steps in taking him from behind the computer: you can actually sit with him while he plays and see what's all about, is he playing it mindlessly? Enjoying? Go with him and get him a new game, play together. Then after you regain some companionship with him, maybe start watching movies together, then quick walks, etc. I think it's important to see the reason behind it. Then share his intererst, after that you may be able to have his interest.
I am in a relationship for 14 years now, and have ups and downs... but we still enjoy our company a lot. Also my work environment is men mostly, and I hear them always complaining about their wives not having interest in what they are doing and not giving them enough freedom. Find a balance, and try to solve
Depression issues.
