My diet is actually really easy, but I found it is working great for me.
I've always been eating healthy and exercising a lot, but still I kept gaining weight. I've never been on a diet before but one day I got really fed up with the weight gaining so I went to the doctor and he really helped me with some good advice.
What I'm doing right now:
1.) I don't eat more than 60 grams of fat per day. That's actually really easy, I eat plenty and I never end up being hungry. If for some reason I ever end up with more than 60 grams of fat per day, I try to make it up by eating less the next day. But during the past 2 months, this only happened once. I usually end up having between 45 and 55 grams of fat per day. Of course it's important that I eat the right stuff - dark bread, poultry, fish, vegetables, loads of fruits - NO fast food.
2.) I try NOT to eat too much of "bad" fats or "bad" carbohydrates.
3.) I do allow myself a treat once in a while...a piece of chocolate, a cookie, or similar.
4.) I drink a lot of water and fruit tea (no sugar), no more than one glass of orange juice per day.
5.) Very important: in addition to watching WHAT and HOW MUCH I eat, I exercise at least four times a week for one hour with a constant pulse rate (in my case of 125) for optimal fat burning. You can find out your optimal pulse rate by taking 65% of (220 minus your age). I bought myself this great machine (a Kettler crosstrainer) which I put in my bedroom, and it is SO worth every single penny I paid. I can do my workout any time of the day (I ususally end up doing it between 10:00 and 11:00 PM) and I can talk on the phone, watch TV or listen to music while doing it. It's the BEST!
In the beginning I weighed myself every morning, and I wrote it down in a chart. I also wrote down my fat grams per day, as well as my work outs (in minutes) and put it all in diagrams. I can see now that I had the best weight loss results between week 3 and 7, when I had an average fat gram intake of no more than 50 grams per day, as well as an average of 255 minutes of exercise per week.
I think what's important is not to starve yourself to lose weight...and to try NOT to lose the weight too fast. The faster you lose it, the higher the chances that you will gain it right back. From what I heard and read, it is okay to lose about 2
pounds per week for the first few weeks, and after that no more than 1 pound per week.
I'm not really a diet expert, and I don't really know whether this could help you...I do hope so! Good luck!
