Dreamed last night I was a large, human sized spider. I had the most beautiful silvery white, cream, and tan 'hair' covering me. Good thing I love spiders or my husband may have had to peel me from the ceiling light!
I was arguing with a large brown spider and ultimately challenged him to a "first fang" battle. I have no idea what it meant, but in the dream we both knew and he backed down.
From there, the dream blended into my being plain old boring human again - sigh. It was such a pretty spider...

Super cool dream! I mean...holy moly...to BE a silvery spider!! Woah. Silver is the colour of psychicness and intuition. The Spider contains all that 'web' symbolism that is so amazing! Do you remember reading one of the Mayan glyphs that contains the spider symbolism? I'll find it...

But the symbolism of your spider sure matches up with the silvery-ness of it! Hmmm.
The other thing that caught my eye was the 'first fang' thing. A friend of mine (months ago) posted a dream where she was bitten by a one-fanged creature and it reminded me of something one of my books says about the Fang. (first fang implies 1, beginning...all that)

Hmmmm....your battle with an 'other' is just mirroring something inside yourself. Truth/False. Relative Gemini stuff? (instead of the Absolute?) Hmmm....very interesting!
I'm probably missing something important in that your adversary backed down...hmmm....

This is a reply to # 602,208Whoa! Lots of very cool symbolism. I was thinking more on Granmother Spider and/or on the First Letters, but yours seems to fit the rest maybe just a bit better? I just remember feeling so very sad when the dream channel 'switched' and the pretty spider was gone... just such beautiful silvery 'hair' ...
If it helps any, the argument was on how to handle some 'humans', brownie wanted to be down and dirty and basically didn't believe they were true humans yet, I wanted to take a higher, more compassionate route (to *what* I'm not totally sure, the dream picked up well into the argument.) After challenging him to "first fang" he sensed I was serious and said he'd check further into it, no need to be getting all hasty (yes, "all hasty" - I do remember that line) just yet. So, in a nutshell, he "backed down." And then the channel 'switched' again.

The arguement sounds like the two sides within yourself. Conditional Love vs Unconditional Love, maybe? Funnily enough this matches your compliment perfectly! Yellow Sun! If you're in the full light of your Yellow Sun-ness then you are all about Unconditional love and compassion - if you're in the shadow....then out comes the unconditional love stuff.
I just wrote about the Shadow of Yellow Sun (interestingly enough!) over on the Astrology Forum - so you might want to check it out. It's not your Challenge - but we do contain both extremes within us! I would say most of the time you are using your Yellow Sun (it is your compliment after all) beautifully...that brown spider is just a niggle of the shadow...

I just couldn't get over the beautiful silvery hair.... it's been haunting me all day, which is why I mentioned it to start with.
But what else made me go hmmm... was you and Anthony talking about integrating the internal male and female. It made me remember the 'feeling' of the dream (before, I just kept getting all misty eyed over that beautiful furry hair, lol) Even though arguing, we weren't really antagonistic. I strongly felt we were a team that was having a rare disagreement. He seemed startled that I'd challenge, let alone choose the challenge I did. It was that determination which made him back down. Errgh, it *wasn't* a power play, but it *was* about power itself - shared power, mine, his, and the 'humans' (if that makes any sense!)

This is a reply to # 602,215Could this be female/male attempting to merge. The female silvery spiritual compassionate spider of consciousness. Attempting to merge thru rational arguement in a positive sense as opposed to a negative arguement right peachy? with the male brown spider you said it was a him right? he apparently did not assert so much as to take over but relegated to a shared postion right? You said you felt not really antagonistic.
I have been having a lot of synchronicity myself about this male female thing and alchemy which I don't know much about right now just in the past 2 days. This sounds good. An integration or merger for you perhaps in the works.

This is a reply to # 602,217I went back the past 12-15 days and see the male/female thing in a lot of themes. Last night as I was thinking about this I heard a tv show in the background. The character said something to the effect of a father must eventually be replaced by the son. This set off some things in my mind. Maybe the dreams aren't so much about about male/female but "The Becoming of One" through several means. You have 1. Integration of the male/female, Adam/Eve sun/moon with recent eclipses, you have 2. The son replacing/becoming(being one) with the father. As In my dreams where my father mirrored things pertaining to me and I did not understand he dissolved when I realized. Then you have 3. A trinity which can become one, like my dreams featuring 3 women in my life who seem to mirror a lot of myself. Which helps me combine the whole mix and become one. In most peoples dreams there are the obvious spiritual symbols like fish, wind, water etc. The other symbols are usually one of the previous mentioned trinity. So speaking of myself I can go back and say that a large proportion of my dreams feature becoming one thru one of the 3 methods. All this is repeated in the seven major religions thru stories and mythologies for instance Adam Eve become one, Adam Eve, split. Jesus becomes integration of male/female through the feminine Holy Spirit/taking a bride/grafting us in etc... When I look at things this way everything starts to make sense. We are all one and are realizing it together. What do you think?

Jung always talks about the Latent Self (there is a really cool alchemy woodcut that he used to show it - a circle - but filled with chaos and cloudy) and the Manifest Self (the other woodcut is a beautiful circle with a clear center and radiating lines outwards....I just love these images!). Through transformations and revelations we Manifest our whole, beautiful, balanced Selves. It's an on-going journey and most exciting, I think.
I just searched google for the images but couldn't find them. Rats!

I read somewhere recently something that really resonated for me about spiders because I dream of spiders and webs quite a lot. It said that when you feel a spider or a web in front or covering you that a spirit is trying to make contact with you.
I just thought I'd share.
