Hi Stacy,
You mentioned you're taking b5, I'm just wondering what dose you're taking. If you're taking the recommendation on the bottle it is not enough, it needs to be 3,000 mgs of Vitamin B5 three times a day, or something thereabouts, at least initially. If your
Acne is not severe you might take a dose like 2500 mgs 3x daily for a week or until results are seen, and then reduce by 500 mgs per dose each week. This should really help reduce the oiliness of your skin. You might experience dry skin in a few places.
Are you eating dairy products? They are not good for the skin, especially oily skin. The other thing is, make sure you're eating healthy fats. For example, rub a little olive oil between your fingers, then rinse it off in the sink (no soap). It rinses easily with just water, see? But try that with crisco, animal fat, etc. You need soap. When we eat oils, it is spread through our body, and of course our skin receives some, it needs fat. But unhealthy fats aren't just bad for our heart, they clog up the skin as well. Avoid fried foods and try to stick with olive oil, flax seed oil, fish oil, etc.
Make yourself eat a dark green leafy salad every day, even if you don't feel like it. That is great for health in general and the skin in particular.
Try a warm
Seasalt facebath sometimes, like every night before bed. After washing your face with a gentle cleanser, fill a large bowl or the sink with warm water plus one teaspoon to one tablespoon of
Sea Salt (depending on the amount of water). Put your face under the water for several minutes, including massaging your face in the water with your fingers. Salt kills bacteria and also dries your skin out just a bit, and it has a lasting effect, this really might help your skin clear up. I do this for my allergies (I clean out my eyes and nose with the salt water too) but I noticed it had a great effect on my skin!
Best wishes!
