Take kelp supplements from the health food store for about a month. Try to eat seaweed occasionally - go to a sushi bar and eat sushi wrapped in seaweed, or japanese restaurant/grocery store and get a cold seaweed salad, or chinese restaurant for seaweed soup. Yum! :)
Take Bromelain, and a full-spectrum pancreatic enzyme that includes bromelain whenever you eat protein. bromelain is an enzyme that is found mostly in pineapple, so if you can handle eating or drinking pineapple juice - the fresher the better - go for it.
Best substitute for milk that I've found is Rice Milk. I think people need to stop drinking it so much as a drink, however. I did drink a LOT of it and did absolutely fine, but I added an egg, lecithin, cinamon and flax seed oil, to make it a power-protein-energy drink. Otherwise, I use it in my cereal and drink tea.
