Well, assuming that you work out regularly (as stated in a previous post), and assuming your ideal "muscle" weight to be around 220 lbs, what you could try is the following:
Be sure you're drinking about 80
oz of water per day in addition to any other fluids. Keep in mind that caffeine drinks increase the need for water, but obviously there comes a point where you simply can't drink any more fluid so limit caffeine-containing drinks (one coffee per day max, for example).
Based upon that body weight and the theory that you're working out regularly, you'll want to eat approximately 110g to 130g of protein per day -- no more. Make this "clean" protein. Balance between lean chicken, fish (such as cod, salmon, tuna, trout), beans/lentils (not soy though in your case -- use kidney beans, northern, pinto, black, and so on), lowfat cheeses (mozzarella, for example, almond cheese, rice cheese), eggs (no more than one yoke per day due to cholesterol)
4oz Tuna is 27g protein
4oz Cod 22g protein
4oz Trout 17g protein
4oz Lobster 27g protein
4oz Skinless Chicken Breast 30g protein
7oz pasta 7g protein
7oz Brown rice 7g protein
7oz White rice 4g protein
4oz Kidney Beans 9g protein
4oz Black Beans 10g protein
Eat several servings of vegetable and fruit varieties daily -- like 5 servings (for example, one apple, one banana, one carrot, one stalk of celery, and a bowl of salad greens)
When it comes to supplementation, several of the following things are important.
Zinc and copper compete for uptake in the body so they should always be taken in combination at a 7:1 ratio. For example, 15mg Zinc should include 2mg Copper.
Vitamin c will help increase free testosterone and is important for a host of issues. At least 500mg vitamin C (spread out through the day) is valuable. Many experts recommend 1000mg.
Do not, under any circumstances, exceed the recommended daily allowances for iron, calcium, or vitamin-D. These three in particular have very little tolerance in your body for either too much or too little.
B-12 and other B-complex vitamins are important for healthy sexual function. Keep these to no more than 5 to 10 times the USRDA if you happen to exceed the USRDA
L-argnine is good for increases in sperm production and increases in the nitrogen-oxide production needed for erection. If you've been taking it with your diabetes, and it hasn't been causing any fluctuations in blood
Sugar or anything, then do what you've been doing.
Ginseng (not directly with c because vitamin c inhibits ginseng) will help balance the endocrine system.
Gingko Biloba (about 10mg twice a day or so) will help improve circulation and blood flow where you want it.
As always, keep watch over your diabetes and dietary calories. Make sure the caloric intake numbers jive with your medication.
