Hi,
That's great that the C is working for you :) This is the first that I'm hearing about the use of baking soda in relation to "H". I wonder that the action of the two together is? Do they work as a suppressant? Or, do they combine to kill off the virus? I heard a woman on TV talk about baking soda turning fats into soap upon contact. Perhaps the baking soda works against the virus' lipid coating? How did you find out about using that combination?
For a while, I was taking up to 2000 mg. of C (but that must have been my saturation point). I was taking C complex (as opposed to acetate or other forms) although I read that people using Vit C for therapeutic purposes used C acetate. (I think Linus Pauling took up to 15,000 mg a day but that must have been by injection.)
Yes, BHT is still VERY inexpensive. I purchased mine at Vitamin Research Products. (I have a link to the product in my first post - just check the other posts for "BHT" and you should be able to find it. Besides the capsules, I also purchased the bulk 300 gram jar. I think it was around $10 (before shipping). (And it's probably enough for hundreds of capsules. It IS in a crystalline form so it probably has to go into a mortar and pestal and be ground into powder before filling empty capsules for use. The pre-made capsules are the convenient way, though - and they're inexpensive, too.
Lately, I've been taking a capsule with breakfast, one with lunch and then 500 mg of C and 400 IU of E with dinner. (I recently read that vits C & E (combined) work synergistically to boost the production of white and "killer" cells in the body.
Since taking the BHT, I still caught some mild head colds (bacterial) but I did not catch the flu (and a lot of people around me were really suffering with it). So, maybe the flu virus is also lipid coated?
Stay well.
