You have to understand that Huggins is a big name,
so it is at least important to hear the other side of things.
None here including myself ever said Morales is bad, but a number of us had serious and I think legitimate concerns, given our access to information.
Now people can be much less hesitant to go to Mexico to see Morales. This is a VERY good thing... for the patience. :)
For a long time I could not pull my mind around why you didn't respond. The personal nature of the problems between Morales and Huggins explains this. If you want my opinion, make the post less personal. You can explain this in a simpler way...
There are two things I would like to ask.
One is not personal, the other is.
Why does Morales do extractions in one day? Isn't this against the IAMT protocol? I am not suggesting he always does it or that arrangements can't be made to change this... but there are limits. For example, the IAOMT protocol states that no more than 2 fillings removed per month. So if you have ~8 fillings that is 4 months that you need to spend in Mexico.... or go back 4 times. Does Morales do something special so that he can do it in one visit? I already had mine removed but I have some friends that need theirs also removed.
The second question is personal. One tooth is giving me trouble. The tooth is a back molar and it hurts like hell. If I have it removed will it cause the teeth to shift or is this some %¤#&!§-to make sure people go the root canal route? I have all my teeth. Perhaps this is something that is only a concern if you have many teeth removed? The tooth was fine until composite was put it. The filling is deep in one spot. DiamondCrown was used.

about your tooth: diamond crown can b tough to work w/, so hopefully the dentist did it right. but, when u work on teeth, the nerve can get upset and u should give it a couple months to calm down. but, if it is hurting bad like u describe, what u need to do is go get a medicated filling put in. i believe they are ZOE (zinc oxide). they are a temporary filling that last 6 months to a yr. but after a short time, the tooth should feel better (i had one that took about a week to get rid of all th pain, then they put a diamond crown filling back in. he left a little of the medicated filling underneath so the nerve would not flare up again. that was months ago and it is still ok, and that tooth was hurting bad). if your tooth has already abcessed, there is nothing that can b done except pull it. let's hope that is not the case. my advice is to get in asap and get a medicated filling, then give it at least a couple months of no pain until u put the diamondcrown back in. no, if it is an end tooth, shouldn't b a problem w/ shifting. many ppl leave those. the only option is to crown the two teeth beside it and put a tooth in that space (3 unit bridge). they r not quite as strong as a bridge where there is a tooth on both sides. personally, i wouldn't get a bridge for an end tooth. of course u can wear a partial, but if it is one tooth, hard to balance it, and u would need the kind that goes all the was around instead of just a little nesbit.
BIOLOGIC DENISTRY AND IV SEDATION Before Conscious IV sedation was used in Biological Dentistry, there was no other choice but to have the patient come into the office as many as 5 or 6 times for treatment.

IV sedation is performed by a licensed anesthesiologist (M.D.). ...we use MIDAZOLAM. the risk is minimal with heart and blood pressure being monitored throughout the procedure. ...[It] can last anywhere from 3-6 hours, depending on the amount of work required; But...to...the patient,...[it will seem like] it has only been an hour or less. The patient does not go under. They can talk, use the restroom, and interact and participate throughout the procedure. Some...patients drive home,...although the patient may opt to bring a friend or spouse with them.

I had 8 or so fillings and 2 cavitations done under 4 hours, same day.

did your dentist in texas make you go see a holistic doctor FIRST before working on your teeth? i went to see a holistic dentist in new york and he is refusing to work on me until i go see a holistic doctor and get under their mercury detox program for 2 weeks.. (additional costs, perhaps in the 1000's) :( wondering what i should do :(

This is a reply to # 34,883I have had Amalgam fillings for 25 years. Is there a certain time period when if you have had your fillings for so long that it won't do any good to have them replaced? I just went for a consult with a biological dentist and am trying to decide if I should have the biocompatibility testing done.

This is a reply to # 34,892the mercury MUST be removed even if your 90 yrs of age ,,you see mercury in your gums is no different than an intravienious needle stuck in your arm feeding you every second ,, not only that but the fillings also give off toxic fumes and you breath this in untill the day you die . The biocompatibility testing you need to ask Dr Morales about as some people do have allergies but for the most part is not needed --My dentist DR MORALES will tell you so him self,,the reson is because he uses the absolute best of the best material for replacement!! GET THAT MERCURY OUT no matter who you are where you are etc,etc and yes even if you removed your mercury in 10 more years from now it will benifit any one at any time at any age

Most people "seem" to like him and this can be important.
It is important that people know about Dr.Morales and his great services.
The details aharleygirl provided I think make the Morales/Huggins
issue mute. Not a concern anymore, in my eyes.
I also want to say that to say Dr.Morales is the best dentist is
an exaggeration. Let's be fair and realistic here. Most biological dentists do all the things that Dr.Morales does, based on aherlygirls website. I talked to many biological dentists prior to settling on one. They were all 15+ and some 25 years Amalgam free biological dentists. They had all the equipment plus. My current dentists is fantastic. Respectful, informed, and has all the newest gadgets. Lasers, Ozone, you name it.
To say, Morales is the BEST, I think is a big stretch. Let's just say he is good and that there are other good biological dentists out there that are also good. I think it is important to find one near you. You can do this via the IAOMT website. I did. Talk to a few on the phone.
Now, I am not trying to prevent Morales from recruiting patience on this website. I think this website is all about what is good for patience and I give my advice with that behind me. I think that having a good dentist close to you is in fact extremely important. I can also see that if you are not able to find one close to you, Dr.Morales could be a great choice.
Choice is great. Let's promote it and preserve it. I think adding another good dentist to the list (Dr.Morales),someone who everyone seems pleased with, is most probably a very good thing!

This is a reply to # 34,841nope, not buyin' it; he is the best. until u have met him, your opinion that he is no, means nothing to all of us who know. and btw, he has been mercury free for about 14 yrs. about 14 yrs ago, he put 15 amalgams in a 12 yr old boy. the boy got severe migraines. dr morales began researching mercury. he started removing the fillings. the more he removed, the less the headaches. when they were all out, the headaches were gone. he said, "That's it! No more mercury in my office!" and, that is how he got started in biologic dentistry. also, i am not impressed by the fancy equipment u mentioned. most of it is hype and unnecessary and would just end up costing our patients more. the main reason morales keeps his prices so low is because he told me that mercury has caused most of our patients their health and they cannot work and don't have much money. and, speaking from personal experience and seeing the experiences of our patients, i know this to b true. here is what one patient wrote me the other day and also posted on a yahoo group: [Morales] is the nicest man!! He cares so much about people. We cried over incredible stories together of people getting better after having their teeth fixed. He loves helping people ...he stays late so that people can keep their plane schedules. He is a true great human being with a HUGE heart. I never like dentists but I always looked forward to seeing him and having him work on me. I guess even the good guys get bashed. The world can be crazy. THe IAOMT website has very few dentists listed when I put in the search. Are all doctors recommended on that site biological dentists? What kind of questions do I ask when I call in the office to determine if they are biological dentists?
Also, I need to find a biological oral surgeon. How do I do that?

This is a reply to # 34,914the true meaning of biologic dentistry is that they will put nothing in the body that harms it. but, it began in the late 1800s when mercury was found to b harmful (see below). of course there is really no safe permanent fixtures that can b put in the mouth, but biologic dentists use was is the least toxic. also, a "true" biologic dentist does not believe in root canals and when they pull a tooth, they remove the periodontal ligament. they do not do implants and they don't take dead bone or dead bovine bone and try to build your jaw up. see below on what i wrote about implants. they don't use nitic oxide, as it is a neuro-toxin. they don't use novacaine, it is a nuero-toxin and it constricts the blood vessles so that dentists r able to virtually work w/ no blood, and when extracting teeth, this does not allow for a good blood socket and greatly increase the chance of forming a cavitation. that is biologic dentistry in a nutshell. Torrie implants r metal and they give off electricity. a lady measured nearly 400 miliamps of postive current and 30 negative in our office. she spent $9,000 on her implants and we removed them. the dr said she could have ran her stereo off her teeth. in addition, the body rejects any foreign thing we put in it. sometimes it is a small reaction, sometimes big, but it varies among ppl. nevertheless, the body does issue an immune response and will build antibodies. over time, that can cause dental implants to loosen and pull away from the bone. this has happened. as u can imagine, that would not b a good thing. i suspect this is y they say implants last 15 to 20 yrs. there r many nerves and meridians, also; u just never know what can happen. but, i can definitely tell u that metal that produces current is not good to put close to the brain. BIOLOGICAL DENTISTRY by Gerald H. Smith The inception of an organized biologic concept to the practice of dentistry had its origin in the late 1800's when the National Dental Association recognized the harmful effects of mercury fillings and mandated non-use by its members. This warning has finally been recognized and acted upon by several foreign countries that have either banned the use of mercury fillings or are in the process: Sweden, Germany, and Austria.
