>>Interesting. I do admire your maturity and honesty. And I understand how it feels to have awful, chronic candida that feels it will NOT go away. I like my doctor, so advanced in some areas, but also is a blood-type diet advocate (and has a fairly sizeable "meat-eaters" ponch gut, you probably know what I'm referring to)to prove it. I felt so crappy last year that I debated going on the "whey" he recommended (for brain chemistry stuff). Then I reconsidered, and figured I still had not lived clean enough to resort to that, and acknowledging that I may win the battle but lose the war, especially considering how I would personally feel about myself.
)))Thanks for the maturity comment. :). Well, I am a whopping 45 y/o, so I am glad something about me sounds mature, lol! I do know about ponch! However, my observation has been different (not saying I am right, just sharing what I have seen in myself and others). Most of the ponches I have seen have to do with carbs overconsumption (possibly the wrong types of carbs?). For instance, my husband, age 50, runs circles around the younger guys at work (he has a physical job) and his stomach is flat as a board and he is quite slender, and he eats a LOT of meat. Me, I had a HUGE ponch until I changed my diet to include meat, and I have several friends who lost theirs on Atkins, then got it back when they went off it. That being said, maybe these are exceptions to the rule. And yes, I agree you do need to keep your integrity and not pursue cures that don't fall into line with your view of the world as guilt will def. not help one to heal. I don't blame you for foregoing the whey. I have tried it myself on the advice of a nutritionist, but only so-so results.
>>A lot of
Liver Cleanses in a row seems like a lot, and can the thrush be from the fruit on your cleanses? I am under the total understanding that protein is comprised of amino acids, and that the best sources of protein are therefore found in greens (and ideally blended for optimal absorption). What is it that you feel is in the (I can only assume antibiotic-free) meat that keeps the candida at bay? I was never on much
Antibiotics as a child, but I ate SO MANY ANIMALS, girl, that I KNOW all those
Antibiotics are part of what destroyed my body. Do the meat substitutes, which are condensed protein, not provide you that same feeling?
))I guess I should clarify the liver cleanses. They weren't flushes. My doc wanted me to do a series of 4 cleanses, one week per month for 4 months. For the first 2 days, I was to use water and herbal teas, and eat bits of fruit to keep my blood
Sugar up as necessary (BTW, I should mention that I am a type 1 diabetic, which may be another reason why the cleanses aggravated my candida - protein is very stablizing for my blood sugars), and take some liver support supps and chlorella (which I do anyway) and a multi vit. By day 3, I was to add in any veggies I wanted, including starchy ones, and could have small amounts of olive oil. And I was supposed to go on that for the rest of the week. I also have wondered if it is possible that doing the cleanses by going straight to veggies instead of the fruit would have made a difference. For cleanse # 2 I just did the fruit part for one day instead of 2 before adding in the veggies, but stil got a flare. Now, I assume (but don't "know"), if it were the fruit that messed me up and not the lack of large protein, would not adding in the veggies and oil cause the candida to start to abate? Instead, it only stared to abate after the week was over, and I had added back the large protein.
>>It's so interesting / exhausting. My candida chewed Threelac up and spit it out for breakfast, I swear. What a joke. I have juice-cleansed tons this summer, getting more and more fed up, and slip up on my all raw diet less and less (and don't stress when I do).
))I agree. This healing journey has been both the best and worst journey of my life. I have learned soooo much, and would like to go back to school and learn even more. I have a blast at work trying to figure out what people are suffering from, ha ha. Sometimes they try my suggestions, but more often than not I have been amazed at what people WON'T do to get well. Are you saying that juice fasting did not help you? Why do you think that is?
>>There is a doctor, Doug Graham (more of a hygienist) having success with long-time sufferers putting them on a high fruit and very low fat (raw veg) diet. DOESN'T THAT JUST BLOW THE LID OFF OF EVERYTHING? God! BUT, you know what? My friend has dealt with candida for soooo long, and got tested with my doc and came to find out it was LYMES, a hidden infection that can affect up to 1 in 2 people. HONEST TO GOD. I really study this stuff, and have some incredible videos, including a brilliant 2 hour documentary on candida. Very eye-opening (although I disagree with the nutritional advice ;-) Still, I feel kind of bad for my behavior, so let me know if I can send a copy to you at some point. Also, do you have the other bible on pleomorphs, SICK AND TIRED: RECLAIMING YOUR BIOLOGICAL TERRAIN by Robert Young? If not, it's a must-have. Back to my theory: there are so many fungi, and maybe that's why Graham's program works for some, who knows. I do think that fruit sugars are different than others, b/c candida and cancer are totally two sides of the same coin (this is in my video, The Fungal Link) and, basically, people cure cancer with carrot juice (high sugar), etc, all the time.
))I agree with you 100% about cancer and candida. A woman is now making the rounds on PBS named Brenda Watson, and her program is called H.O.P.E. She is the first I have heard on national telly making the connection between gut dysbiosis, intestinal issues, leaky gut, IBS, pathogens, candida (yes, she even said the word!) and heart disease, auto-immune diseases, and so on. I almost fell off my chair. The condition I have been ridiculed over by my Harvard-educated (but with chronic sinusitis and heart fibrillaitons I might add) brother-in-law has finally been sanctified by PBS! :) I have been trying to get him to at least take probiotics for 4 years now. . .oh well, I digress. . I do believe that some candia sufferers can get well by going raw and eating lots of fruit. I think it depends (just my opinion here) a lot on your state of digestion tho. In my experience, a lot of the things that we are told to do and they will get us well - some of them cannot be accomplished successfully until one has established somewhat better health. Like, if one does a
Liver Flush before their phase 2 pathway can handle the waste, they will just get backed up and become more toxic than they were before. I have found a lot of truth in the claim that alkalizing is the base from which all other healing takes place. Until I began to alkalize, many things I tried failed. I gained a small degreee of health by supping with baking soda and
citric acid to alkalize, and when that got me stronger, I was able to try more things with success. Supps that made me over-toxic before I could now handle and thrive on, for instance. I agree with you also that fruit
Sugar is different. I actually have no problem eating fruit as long as I am getting adequate protein. Maybe I am just doubly cursed due to the diabetes or something. That video sounds awesome. I would love to get a copy. However, I would be more than happy to pay you for it. It is very nice of you to offer, though. Please don't feel bad. I was not the most perfect responder either, and besides, it looks like we are all over that anyway. :) I do not know of that book (tho I have certainly heard of Dr. Young), but I agree it sounds like a good read. Like you, I find the whole subject extremely fascinating. My hubby starts looking around the room when I get off on a tangent. I just don't understand how he cannot be as fascinated by this as I am! But then, my eyes glaze over when he talks about baseball standings . . .
>>My crawling skin (hive issue) has been at bay for some time now. Am I actually healing?? I did this cleanse, which is a lymes protocol but also great for candida:
http://www.myherbs.net/productinfo.asp?prod=SNCB
))I will take a peek at this - thanks. Congrats on the healing - it sure sounds good. Doesn't your world just light up when you make a breakthorugh!?!?
>>Great immune-building deadly killers of evil microbes are SAMENTO and CUMANDA by NutraMedix, guaranteed to break the blood/brain barrier in 2 minutes (that brand is). I also do oregano oil in my EFA's. And grapefruit seed extract in grapefruit juice (otherwise it tastes like lysol). And stuff like raw garlic every day, or in Super Tonic (a plague remedy). I do raw veggie kraut and have primal defense and kombucha tea for probiotics, and I am feeling better and better. My candida also ate up my hormones, so I am correcting those right now. It dines on them in later stages. LOVELY!! I also use a very incredible product called this, specifically designed for stuff like candida. It works, but is totally NASA. Check it out, my liberal arts brain won't even try to explain this:
http://www.nutri-link.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.15.exe/zetaforce/index.html?E+sc... I know the russian physicist who designed the energy medicine, and my doctor designed the formulas. They make Zeta Concentrate, too, which is in a little eyedropper. It is incredible stuff.....
I take it you have gotten terrain-tested, then? It's so important. Parasites, other fungi, bacteria.. all of it causes so many overlapping symptoms, and I have stealth viruses, etc. I mean, the protocols are pretty much the same, but still. Knowledge is power.
))WOW! I am also going through a hormone thing. I get a little candida flare during my period. Less so each month. I knew there was a connection. It messed my hormones too. Trad doc (before I knew it was candida that I had) put me on BCP's and OH MY GOD what a mistake that was. It made a small problem huge. My cycles were all over the place and it was hell, and it also of course served as the perfect candia incubator. Never again. In fact, I am off all my allopathic meds now - I was on about 8 at my peak of sickness, pre diagnosis. They were trying to treat seemingly unrelated symptoms, and of course, now I know they were all related. Thanks for the tips on the supps. I will check them out. Yeah, I was terrain tested. Went on a
parasite cleanse (Paragard) way back in the beggining for about 9 month and all kinds of colors and shapes came out of me - it was great/horrible. :)
Oh, and why I think I do better on the meat? One reason could be diabetic blood
Sugar stabilization. Also, it could be the glutamine which is good for leaky gut healing. I tried glutamine powder, but had an allergic reaction to it. Maybe it needs its primary source for me not to react to it, I don't know. You also asked what my allergy to coconut was like and the brand. It was not oil I was allergic to, it was the meat of the fruit, so it was fresh (no brand). Based on that, I never ventured into coconut oil, but now that my sentitivity to coconut fruit seems to be gone, I bought a jar of the oil to try. Unfortunately, i don't recall the brand, though. My reaction symptoms (to anything I cannot eat) include wheezing, sinuas drainage, and fatigue. BIf it is REALLY bad, I get a pain over my left eye. Then, I know I am in for it. But, overall they are soooo much better as I have been doing a lot of leaky gut work, which is probably why I can handle the coconut now.
I have been thinking about what you wrote a while back about us being one species so we should be on only one diet. I have to admit, there is a lot of logic to that statement. I saw this on the Ask Moreless forum here on curezone. It was after I began following a lot of his ways that I began to truly heal. BTW, he does not advocate meat either as he is all about becoming alkalized. But, he did have an explanation about why one person's needs may differ from another's. Here it is, below. I would love to hear what you think about his point of view.
Have a great day,
Elin
Here is Moreles' post:
Hi Ya'll,
Everyone is different and also different people may have different pH ratings, so "IF" you have one person who is very Acidic and another person who is very Alkaline and they eat the same food, you may expect totally different results!
This may be hard for some people to understand, but consider that the body is powered from Electro-magnetic Energy which may be released from the foods which you may eat, which may Digest different "IF" you are too Acidic -VS- "IF" you are very Alkaline!
Because the Electro-magnetic Energy which may be produced, is determined by the Kinds and Amounts of opposite Charges, between the Acids and the Alkaline Minerals, is this so hard to understand ?? Now ??
It is all about the Acid Alkaline pH Balancing Principles!
"IF" your body is very Acidic, then it is going to process the same food different than "IF" your body is very Alkaline!
Now, when you take into consideration that different people also have different body "TYPES" which also may determine how the foods may Digest for them, then you have increased the mix of different results to take place when different people may eat the same foods !
So, it is very Foolish to make a statement that one shoe fits all people!
Or that one solution cures all people, because all people are different from each other in their body types and also in their pH Balance!
But , the same Acid Alkaline pH Balancing Principles may hold true for all problems because it covers all of the differences !
Smile Tis your choice.
