I Totally Appreciate Your Post!

Hi and thanks for that post - I really appreciate what you said. I don't think you should stop (not that you were going to of course, but just saying that even "I" don't think you should stop posting your opinions on meat). That is your truth and your arguments are really excellent. I appreciate anyone who has such passion, and I am really glad the animals have such a good friend in you. I am not necessarily pro-meat, I am just not totally anit-meat, at least at the moment, and this is due to my own needs more than anything else. I was vegetarian for a long time, for both moral and health reasons. I just can't seem to do it now, or I get a big candida flare. In fact, my doc has been having me do a series of week-long cleanses for my liver which involve eating only fuits, veggies, and legumes (plus supplementation of vitamins, tons of chlorella (up to 20 grams a day), and minerals and liver support), and both times I have done it, I go in feeling well, and within 2 days, massive thursh has broken out on my tongue, and then I have to go through all that die off again, and it is wearing me out. So, I have told my doc I cannot do these anymore until my candida has been well controlled for a longer time - then I will try again. And I tell you what, if I can do the cleanses successfully at some point without the candida flaring back up, I will give vegetarianism another try. And, in the future, when I post about meat eating, I will add the caveat that many people seem to have gotten well on a vegan diet, and that my comments pro-meat are from my own experience. I too want to help people get well, but I can only share that which is my own experience, so if my preception is that eating larger amounts of protein helped me, I feel I would be shirking my responibility if I did not point that out to someone who was struggling, but I will try to keep it balanced.

I have to admit that I do not feel 100% morally ok with eating meat. I also have to tell you that our discussions HAVE put this issue further to the forefront of my brain, and I find myself thinking about it more than I did. So, we'll see. . .
