The beauty of caprylic acid, which I used to beat my candidasis, is that it does NOT kill bacteria. Caprylic acid is an anti-fungal only. Further, there is a very long history for treating candidasis with caprylic acid. It seems to be a rather innocuous substance that is well tolerated by most people. By taking a time-released form of caprylic acid, or mixing it in psylluim husk powder, it is believed that most of the caprylic acid can be retained in the intestine where it will adversely affect the candida. I not aware of any literature stating that theraputic doses of caprylic acid over a reasonable period of time adversely affect the liver. However, I could be wrong on this point.
Vaginal candidasis, I understand, often results in a thick "cheesey" discharge. So, I would not be too quick to dismiss the possibilty of a similar discharge from a candida ravaged intestine.
Perhaps some of the women on this board would be kind enough to ask their OB-GYN if he or she has ever seen physical evidence of candida during a c-section. I've read several unstantiated posts of this occuring.
