This won 10 oscars - Gone with the Wind - Removed from HBO - following calls for it to be removed.
One of the most famous iconic films of all time - said to predict racial prejudices.
Ok, I’m starting to wonder if we should be watching films of Jesus Christ’s crucification - there was a lot of prejudices against him - should we be watching the Elephant Man? There was a lot of prejudice against him.
Should we be watching films on disability - there’s been a lot of prejudices against the disabled and still is, think of the asylums, I knew someone who had been in them, they were terrible places but people are still suffering abuse today behind closed doors, being locked away because of disability, their human rights violated, where are the protests? Where are the marches? No one going to riot for them, people are suffering behind closed doors just because their disabled or elderly, abuse is going on behind closed doors. Why does Social Services have families quietened using the courts? Could it be because of public backlash?
There’s probably films on modern day slavery, there’s films of murderers - should we be watching them - what about the victims respects?
What about the slaves under the Romans? They were worked to death over here. What about the woman taken from Europe for their white skin? our shores were often raided. Why don’t we hear about that.
Should we be watching jaws? Doesn’t that portray great whites unfairly? Couldn’t that movie have led to many more great white killings at the time.
Ban Harry Potter - it led to some owl species becoming endangered, owls don’t make good pets.
We hear about how Jewish people were murdered under the Germans but we don’t hear a lot about how the Japs treated the Chinese, barbaric.
Ban stuff on medieval Britain - especially at the time of King Henry 8th, he sent a lot of people to their deaths, boy did the Europeans suffer under the church..maybe we should ban the church, not sure how many were burned at the stake, dirty old vicars and priests abusing children and the church profited from black slavery, ban films on woman in Ireland who were forced to go to work under cruel nuns just because they fell pregnant and had their babies wrenched away from them, to many, ban films on swearing and violence, they’re often based on real life people such as Jack the Ripper. Think of the victims? What about their respects?
So what should we watch? Have I gone to far? No I do t think so, America and Britain are now addressing the issues aren’t they? Well no they’re not, they’re addressing black prejudices and slavery history but all the other wrongs aren’t coming to the forefront , why not? WHY NOT? Why aren’t we hearing about all the other prejudices- What about Muslims in China - why isn’t the world demanding that to be stopped?
I could go on all day, is there any point? Nah...as I said before I stand against racism, All Racism and All Prejudices against All including the elderly, disabled, mental health problems and modern day victims, what I don’t stand for is selection... if we are going to challenge racism and prejudices it should be right across the board, sadly this isn’t a perfect world, only when Christ’s return happens will it be a perfect world, no racism and no prejudices.
I have witnessed for myself disability hate over the years but you don’t hear a lot about that, I would one day like to see those people receive the attention they deserve because we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect even if we don’t fit into other people’s perfect world.
