you keep avoiding it. if the rules say at the very
top and up front to keep politics and conspiracies off the christianity debate forum then why did you crosspost to it and put it on there?
"I have heard..." I typed a number of things and the first one was that Jim Bakker is a snake oil salesman, and any individual-slash-prophet that appears with Bakker's endorsement is suspect. I grew up with Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker, Pat Robertson, and a host of other individuals that began their "ministries" in Portsmouth, Virginia. Bakker's link was posted as something "important" and he is still a schill and he is still engaging in the same behaviors that landed him in prison. Those are facts, not feelings.
I also wrote that posting on behalf of another member is ill advised. If you have something to write, then write it, yourself. I did not attack anyone, but I absolutely questioned their motives and sensibilities. It does not make sense to post FOR someone else. If you closed your account, then why are you asking another active member to post FOR you? This member that posted on your behalf stated very clearly that her post was for information, only, and not open for debate and, in a general defense, claimed that "your" post "woke up" the board with lively debate, and that it was good to observe this.
The individual that I addressed, directly, would not respond to me, directly, and that causes me some sense of concern. It means that they either avoid open discussion, or they are fearful. I also received a private message from an individual about another thread that was an attempt to create an allegiance, and I do not play those games online or in my daily life.
Theology is important, and I don't care who disagrees with this. In the end, nobody else cares, either. It's a choice to do what is right and what is beautiful, or run around marking territory and spouting intellectual blather. Education can be very enlightening - we're not discussing school children, here. And, it is true that views and ethics can change over a course of time. It is now perfectly acceptable for people to declare that they are "gender-fluid" and that is a mental illness, not something to celebrate and encourage. But, it is a change in culture and society.
So, this whole discussion is self-serving and arrogant - that nobody needs to learn within these discussions is appalling because there is absolutely no mention of moving amongst the poor, the indigent, the sick, the dying, and the desperate. There are only posts and comments about who is right, who knows the Bible from page to page, and how anyone who disagrees with any self-annointed expert is "wrong" or an "enemy."
You're all so quick to claim knowledge, but back-biting, passive/aggressive behaviors, pure arrogance, and this overblown sense of self importance is nauseating. You can all get into your little hug boxes, duke it out with one another, make your snide remarks, play your dramatic games, and that's fine with me. Keep your sandbox.
