lets apply some logic to this, shall we? i believe logic to be a godly trait.

everybody cringes or revels in this scenerio whereby a person has died and didnt say the magic words or took a stand as an atheist or whatever but is now confronted with a new set of facts that they do live forever and god is about to judge them. dont you think that person would like a second chance? that person would very readily say magic words, jump through hoops, give all they had to the poor, etc, etc, etc. right? everybody wants to live forever, right?

well, i dont think thats true. it has been well established that a person cannot earn their salvation. why is that? its true just like no one earns being born. you cant do anything about it. boom - you have life. and its free.

so there is nothing a person can do to save themselves. you cant earn salvation. but you can kill yourself. you can earn damnation.

the lord will not interfere with free will. judas, for example. do you think he is an israelite who will be saved? or did he choose not to? or is it simply that his salvation will be of a lesser status? you know, the least will be greatest and the so forth?

i dont know why youre asking this. the lord doesnt deal with groups, he deals with individuals. i think what paul was saying was that the lord had not written off the israelites to let the romans know he wasnt a fair weather god or wishy washy about his commitments.

so, if youre not trying to trap me again so you can call me a jew hater then lets proceed.

11 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

like i said, he doesnt deal in groups. and he is no respector of persons. he has a remnant. its based upon each individuals works.

works. thats what i hate most about christianity is the harm they do to regular folk. even if they dont want to join up for salvation, christians plant the seed in their prospects that they are all worthless sinners and there is nothing they can do about it. and yet they are the ones who will be judged according to their works.

remember, those in christ only sleep. the dead are the wicked who have died in the sins:

Revelation 20
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

judged according to their works. how cruel christianity is. and what excuses they have produced in their wickedness and their folly. how many of those will be able to point to some hypocrite who they couldnt stand and who told them god said they were hopeless sinners who were born in sin and automatically condemned!!!????

Romans 9 tells us who "All Israel" is:

For they are not ALL ISRAEL who are descended from Israel; 7 nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but: “through Isaac your descendants will be named.” 8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.

So "All Israel" is the children of the promise and we learn from many other passages that the children of the promise means all those that are in Christ by faith.

Just because the gospel went out the the Gentiles does not mean it stopped going out to the Jews, and so all along as Gentiles have been being saved, so have Jews.

1 Cor. 1:
22For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; 23but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, 24but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Paul said he was magnifying his ministry so that by doing so, some of his countrymen (the Jews) might be saved:

Romans 11:
13 But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if somehow I might move to jealousy my fellow countrymen and save some of them.

So the point I'm making is, when the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, all Israel (the children of the promise) will be saved because the Jews and Gentiles alike have been being saved all along together.

At the risk of sounding like someone else on here :), God doesn't save groups, he saves individuals, who then end up making up one group with no distinctions.

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

That passage is talking about all who are in Christ by faith, whether Jew or Gentile.

Gal. 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Does it really make sense with what we read all through scripture, to think that God is going to save a whole nation of people, just because they are a certain nation? Yes, he set national Israel apart for a purpose, for a time, but he didn't guarantee salvation to all of them just because they happened to be part of that nation by physical descendance.

Think about this too: if you believe "All Israel will be saved" means all the nation of Israel, it could still only be those particular people that happen to be born at the right time to end up being in that time period where God decides to save the whole nation, because all this time, countless Jews have been dying unsaved in unbelief. So "All Israel" if you think it means national Israel can just mean all those born at the right time. Is that what you believe?
