Hi Darylok. Thank you for finally posting this. I'd like to add a little please to this thread. This is my first ever reddit post as I've just been following this as a visitor, but i know i need to join to be of any help. I've been following the lanosterol tests for over a year now. My little schnauzer "Booty" is truely the best friend in my life. Unfortunately, due to her diabetes she developed cataracts and for some reason that neither I or a couple of our vets understand the opthamologist declined her as a cataract surgery patient Lanomax, has been a great through as far as cataract improvment. Its lead to many promising and optimistic paths.
Where lanomax fails and I actually brought this up to the company a little while ago in a phone call is that Lanosterol is not sufficiently soluble to be absorbed via eyedrop as Darylok stated. In vitro, being injected it did show awesome results that I know gave all of us a huge shot of hope. I work for a company, endogen hormone co. thats not a plug.. just stating a little background that I am familiar with different chemicals and more than your average understanding and knowledge of them. It was very disheartening seeing 2 things about lanomax. First, was the lack of email reply, especially as I was just trying to help. Second, going through their website and seeing all the pictures of the animals and their eyes, those are all the pictures taken from Dr. Zhan's study. If you clicked on their terms and conditions page you'll see there's are significantly different than most. I almost felt a bit threatened after reading it all. They were claiming all property of the webste was exclusively their own and on an on about it and the penalties if anything from the site was used by another.... when in truth, their entire site is taken from others. My general conclustion of them is this. I don't necesarily for whatever reason see them as scammers or trying to scam people, although anyone who is going to take production of a product to what they want should have without doubt know something as simple as the solubility of the product(being the keen issue with it). Something positive though that I must say, and this is why I suppose I don't see them as "bad" or scammers. The reply from email is terrible and usually doesn't happen. however, anytime I've called them, I've always got an answer from what sounds like a young lady who has genuinely been as nice as she could be and stated that she just works in the orders and shipping. For her, I know she's doing the best at what she can. Unfortunately, those above her have only left her a task impossible to do.
Two things in ending, and thank you all for your time. There has been more work done with lanosterol and most specific other members of the sterol family that are small enough and soluble and have worked in mice and dogs also without any injection. Pure eyedrop. This was huge but when they were tried on removed human cataract tissue for whatever reason, the results weren't the same. For are furry friends though could be good. Finally, Ive typed all this barely being able to see the screen. My MOST BELOVED BOOTY passed away yesterday morning and I'm totally and completely heartbroken. I was trying so hard to find something to help her and she laid in my mothers arms as she was sang her lullaby and closed her eye. My mom told me that she prayed right before and just asked God please let booty see us again before dying. I wasn't there but n talking to my dad earlier and not having mentioned anything of my mother's last wish for her he told me "Son right before she passed she looked up at us... and there wasn't a single hint of cloudy or grey. She looked like she had the eyes of a puppy. I know there's probably some medical reason or explanation to why... but I would please just rather to believe that she actually did and have that story to share with you all than being contradicted otherwise. I promise to all of you if I can help anyone in the least, I will. Thank you C.S.
