There are a many different protocols for blasto and this may work and may not. Blasto is a wide diversity organism meaning it has many subtypes and each subtype will respond differently to different combinations. You can visit badbugs.org for different protocols.
Nitazoxanide w/ Paromomycin is another good combination.
1) Which foods should I avoid or include during these medications? I make lots of home made ferments like kefir and sauerkraut so probiotics aren't a problem. It has also been suggested to me to acquire the probiotic s. bouldarii and take it during this time.
>>Avoid fresh dairy which has high amounts of lactose, you will have secondary lactose deficiency with these infections which causes more inflammation. Processed foods will also aggravate the mucosa. It is also quite possible that you will have
food sensitivities such as corn, wheat and other things. Kinesiology can offer some help with this.
Genetically-Modified-Organisms creates havoc for me, so I try to avoid.
Some people recommend doing probiotics after the treatment, and not during. I'm not sure what to think about that. To me, you want to keep replenishing good flora so that the bad bugs don't have free reign, especially when they're dying and start getting desperate.
>>IMO probiotics are overrated but that may not be the case for you. Some organisms thrive on eating bacteria for dinner and protozoa are known for this. Experiment, observe and react is the best advice. Prebiotics such apple cider vinegar and maybe kefir. Another problem with commercial probiotics is that they have a narrow range meaning they will load with say lactobacillus strains while the gut could have thousands of different organisms living there. The gut is a very diverse environment. Fiber can also assist in propagating the flora, though I would be careful on which fiber in that some fiber may create problems. Read Dr. Galland's material he has posted on mdheal.org, he recommends certain fibers.
I know to avoid sugar. One post on CZ recommends eating just meat and veggies for the duration, to deprive the microbes of anything that could help them survive. Problem is, I can't digest most veggies right now, especially raw ones, and I don't have anymore body weight to sacrifice. Advice would be appreciated! I intend to be home bound for those 7-10 days and I don't want to starve!
>>Sort of like a lot of these diets such as SCD. Can't hurt.
juicing may be an alternative using low
Sugar vegetables. Digestive enzymes may help with the digestion.
2) What is the order of operations for these meds? My doctor can't advise on this, but she thinks taking them all at once would be the best bet so that the bugs can't adapt. I've also read lots on other people's protocols. Tinidazole is a systemic amebicide, sulf-trim is a systemic
Antibiotic (has some potential effect on b. hominis though), and paromomycin in a luminal (intestinal) amebicide only.
Some people would do tinidazole and sulf-trim together first, then do paromomycin later. I haven't seen many suggesting doing them all at once. Maybe that would be too harsh?
Advice would be appreciated, preferably from people who have direct experience with these meds. I am prepared for the severity, I just need some basic advice.
