Hi, I'm Marcus, 21 Male from Belgium.
I am desperately looking for help in overcoming my illness. Help is extremely much appreciated! I have written a history below of my life:
1995 birth --> allergic to bottle cow milk, been given soy milk (no breast feeding)
1998 --> nose and throat tonsils removed (after being inflamed for a while)
2002 --> mild asthma
2005 --> had antibiotics for a light fever (amoxicilline)
2005 --> CRP (c-reactive protein) value: 44 mg/l (should be 0-10)
BSE B 1U 36mm/1st hr (should be 0-8)
Iron: 2 umol/L (should be 12-31)
2006 (august)--> ALATB: 74 U/L (should be 0-40)
ASATB: 68 U/L (should be 0-40)
2006 (october)--> ALATB: 73 U/L (0-40)
ASATB: 71 U/L (0-40)
2006 (november)--> ASATB: 146 U/L (0-40)
ALATB: 103 U/L (0-40)
LDH B: 574 U/L (200-480)
2008 --> CRP (c-reactive protein): 28 mg/L (0-10)
ALATB: 31 (0-40)
BSE: 22 (0-15)
Iron: 4 umol/L (12-31)
2008 --> pneumonia
immediately after finishing antibiotics for this: severe constipation/pain
been given laxatives (macrogols)
(This moment is the start of my irritable bowel syndrome)
2010 --> severe stomach cramps/pains
had colon&gastro scopy / MRI scan / Echo / CT scan --> found nothing wrong
2011 --> "irritable bowel syndrome" diagnosis
been given Venlafaxine for pain relief (which were stopped a few weeks after taking because of electric shocks felt throughout my chest and did not help anything...)
been given pain medications (metamizole/codeïne reduced the pain a little..)
2013 --> BSE 6 (0-15)
CRP 0,8 (0-5)
Iron 14 (10-30)
ASATB 19 (0-40)
ALAT 13 (0-45)
2015 --> extreme fatigue, constant nausea, weight loss
2016 --> gastroscopy, saw some scar tissue in my esophagus, nothing currently inflamed they said
2016 --> stool test: found undigested food, bile acids was 90 (should be 150-350), Beta Defensine 2 was elevated (300, supposed to be below 60 or 20 ng/ml),
found no yeast or fungus, some bacteria were in low counts (Bifidobacterium was "<1.0*10^7, should be 1*10^8 - 3.0*10^9 /// Enterococcus was 4.0*10^4, should be 1.0*10^5-1.0*10^7)
Started doing a lot of research online myself
Used Milk Kefir, changed my IBS-C to IBS-D for 3 months.
Used Glutamine 25g/day for just 2 days, D stopped, first time in 7 years no more macrogols/pain meds needed, reduced pain by 80%+ (this was 8 months ago)
Extreme severe Fatigue/nausea/weight loss remain unchanged.
Current state:
A lot of weight lost
I am 6'7 and only 165 lbs, used to be 200+ lbs... I keep losing despite eating a lot
Since 2 weeks I also had blood in my stool and it hurt when going to the toilet. The doctor checked it and it wasn't hemmorhage, I have collected stool sample to check for calprotectein (inflammation marker).
Due to the blood in my stool I have done a short 3-day water fast. During this my body felt a lot calmer and my fatigue dropped by about 30%, since starting food again the fatigue is back again in full force. I haven't had any blood though the last few days, so perhaps the short fast sealed up some wounds inside.
I dropped 6 lbs in 3 days and have not regained any since returning diet. My body sheds weight extremely fast, I am eating over 3000 calories a day, I even tried eating 5000 calories a day for a few weeks but just barely gained weight :(
Currently I am not using any medication. I have managed to get off the laxatives and pain medication that I have used for 7 years by a combination of probiotics/glutamine/diet change. This did not help my fatigue though.
If I would have to state very simply what feels wrong with my body I would say that a lot of my bowels/organs feel damaged (they actually feel sensitive when standing up/moving around) and it feels like there is a lot of garbage in my blood.
I am considering doing liver/gallbladder flushes. Also I am wondering about feces transplant to repopulate my gut from a healthy donor.
Any advice would be extremely much appreciated.
Thank you,
Marcus
