I've been taking doxycycline alone to try to rid myself of the bacteria that strongyloides feed on, thus killing them off. It's a rough road, because the doxy causes me such horrible side effects, but it seems to be working.
I read about this in a PubMed study that a friend (nurse practitioner with an office subscription) sent to me. It seems research shows that when the anti-parasitics cease to work, killing off the bacteria they feed on does work.
I'm taking 100mg doxy twice a day, and admittedly, I've had to take a few breaks due to it causing esophogitis, even though I've followed directions to the letter. I think my problem is that my esophagus is so scarred by GERD anyway, that the caps just don't go down, so now I'm trying to take the caps with a tablespoon of coconut oil in a small bit of applesauce followed by 32 ozs. of water instead of the 8 they recommend. This seems to be working so far. I'm going to take the doxy until all the symptoms disappear.
I was taking a lot of anti-parasitic herbs (CoQ10, MSM, garlic, etc.) along with the doxy, but the die-off seemed to be too fast and I was getting sicker instead of better, so I figured I'd clean up with the herbs later. I'm also taking a tablespoon of DE (diatomaceous earth) in 8 ozs of water every morning to help remove toxins.
Results I've experienced are not dramatic, but noticeable. At first, the symptoms got worse as the
parasites tried to escape from the doxy, causing all sorts of harsh shooting and stabbing pains, especially in my feet and joints of my hands and my knees where they seem to have taken up residence. Also lots of pain in my kidneys and bladder. This took about a week to clear up, at which time I needed to take a break anyway.
I was having the tiny white worms come out of my skin, my mouth and my lips en masse before I started the doxy, and they went a little crazy when I first started, ripping holes and leaving scratches on my legs and feet right and left. I shudder to think what my insides look like. They are still coming out, but the numbers have decreased by about 50%. It used to be at night that I could put coconut oil on my hands and sit and watch dozens of them emerge, but now I only get maybe 4 to 5 a day. My sheets are no longer covered with "sand" when I wake up in the morning.
I'm still getting something that looks like small, flat seeds with heads coming out of my skin in various places, mostly my fingers, hands and toes, which I'm assuming from their appearance are
Tapeworm larvae. I'm going to start the Prazi protocol ICU sent me as soon as I finish 30 days of the doxy. I am seeing fewer of those too, so not sure what the doxy is doing to them. I was diagnosed with dwarf tapeworm, so not getting any big segments out, just the seeds, and I've seen quite a few in my stool as well.
I'm taking USP doxy I got on eBay. Make sure you get the USP doxy with the numbers or letters on the capsules. There are some fakes out there. I got the wrong kind initially, because the seller promised me it was USP, but it wasn't and it made me sick on my stomach, so find a seller who won't lie to you. FishLife was the fake brand I bought. The one I bought the USP from is not selling there anymore. Don't know why. I'm looking for another legitimate USP seller, so if you know any, let me know.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know what is working for me. Fight on,
parasite Warriors!
