I find it very strange that people can not take Niacin but there is a small percentage of the population that just can't for some reason. That is incredibly sad because the body actually is powered by a niacin derivative.

However, vitamin C ( ascorbic acid ) is also crucial to our existance and we need to constantly replenish it. We should take vitamin C at least 6 to 12 times a day in at least 500 mg amounts. That is 3 to 6 grams a day. Many prefer much more, up to 50 or more grams a day.
You see, vitamin C can actually be used by the body top replenish many of the other vitamins that may be missing. Not only that, it is the basis for the production of connective tissues in the body.
It is often the lack of vitamin C that causes things such as torn ligaments and tendons as well as busted and leaking capillaries and excessive bruising.
Insufficient vitamin C is the most common cause of heart attack, strokes, and aneurysms. This is the result of insufficient or weak connective tissues in the capillary walls and arteries. This results in either bulging or cracked walls. Cholesterol is used to patch these cracks which is one reason that cholesterol is blamed for heart attacks. Your body needs cholesterol in the right amounts but a lack of vitamin C forces the body to use cholesterol to patch those cracks.
Low vitamin C also causes gum problems and loose teeth.
As for probiotics, Your body also needs certain specific bacteria in the intestines to help digest food, to produce vitamins, and to keep the immune system healthy as well as suppressing other unwanted microbes.
Get a natural good yogurt with "Live and Active cultures" of at least 5 or 6 different microbes. Just acidophillus will not do the job alone.
