I am on day 15 of my fast and for the last week have limited water intake. Rather than constantly drinking to thirst, what I have been doing is attempting 12-18 hours from sleep until the middle of the day to dry fast.
I am having trouble finding the benefits and
Science of a short term dry fast intermixed with a water fast. I can objectively say my weight loss is more rapid. It also seems like the major detoxing effect occurs just after hydration, not during the dry fast. It is almost like whatever was burned during that time is being flushed by the water.
I have absolutely no proof of any of these things. I am trying to find
1) are there benefits to what I am doing
2) is there a better way
On a side note that is quite pertinent to this topic is that I dry sauna 1 - 2 x per day for up to an hour with breaks. This is another thing I often see being said as bad during a dry fast, but mine are short. I am looking to get into the borderline dehydration state and than maintain it for several hours. By no means am I pushing myself into any form of actual dizziness, thought scrambling, etc. The farthest I am willing to go is when my mouth is dry and all I can think about is water.
So my remaining questions are:
3) Is fully rehydration (which is what I have been doing)ideal or do I want to minimize even that. Partly because I need to work, coach, be with kids, etc... I am limited in how little energy I am willing to go to.
4) What else am I missing that could benefit me in my exploration into this?
Thank you and I apologize if my wording is a little lengthy... I am fasting lol.
Peace
