Vitamin D3 has been a true miracle for my own health. I used to suffer TERRIBLE chest colds every winter for MANY DECADES. I also caught every flu that came around. Now since taking D3, 10,000 IU daily, no more chest colds, no more flu. At most I might get a few sniffles. I dare not go without D3. It is the only supplement I take with me on vacation.
Now in hindsight, those were simply Candida symptoms brought on by my immune system in shambles.

This is a reply to # 2,199,137Although it's more about your immune being to function properly when your vitamin d levels are adequate, I did feel a strong warm feeling where I normally felt most of the Candida in my gut, but it was probably my own immune system causing that. I strongly suggest optimizing the Vitamin D first and then going from there. I had to work backwards and learn the hard way unfortunately.- Re: I cured my Candida forever longterm

MoreThis is a reply to # 2,199,255I wish my doctor would have told me I had the blood abnormality due to an autoimmune disease. But, maybe he didn't know what it meant. For people with intestinal absorption problems like me, it is probably best to absorb vitamin D through your skin directly in the sun until your intestines are healed.

Please keep us updated on the vitamin D dosage your doctor recommends over time. I know you said you took 50,000 IU the first month, then 30,000 IU the second month. Does the level keep dropping 10,000 IU each month until you reach 10,000 IU or 5,000 IU? This is a reply to # 2,199,063I went to a gen practioner and he told me I tested for extremely high levels of bacteria but didn't tell me which. He said it wasn't Candida Albicans per se, but another bacteria. It was in fungal/yeast form. I can tell you that I had thrush and rashes on my genitals, tonsil stones, plus a host of typical symptoms. So whichever bacteria it was, it acted just like Candida. I think the key here is that my immune system was weak allowing that bacteria to grow unchecked. By upping my Vitamin D, my immune system was able to function more normally, thus controlling the bacterial overgrowth. I even had it in my eyes, it was pretty much everywhere. I had to take as much D as I did because I don't properly absorb my nutrients due to my damaged gut.

I wish that people would be more specific about what they are taking. Vitamin D comes in D2 prescribed by doctors that is no good, and D3 sold by many companies. We want the D3 geltabs made with olive oil. Vitamin D3 comes in dosages called IU (International Units) - I take 10,000 IU daily.
Are you having problems with only 200 IU? That is nothing. You are likely very deficient in magnesium.
So make sure you get D3 geltabs made from olive oil, and if you have problems taking it, you may need the co-supplements.
Cofactor vitamins can help those who may have trouble getting their blood test to the optimum 70-80 ng/ml. Experience has demonstrated most of us can get optimal blood testing without the cofactors.
