I think a base framework is a good idea, people need to know where to start but I think it would be helpful to have perhaps a little text after each element highlighting possible effects or relationships it may have on other nutrients.
For example, as we have already seen here quite clearly a fair amount of people overlook selenium or at least ample selenium.
People will take D3 and not realize that it may increase their need for more magnesium and requires Vitamin A and K to really be put to use and without them Vit D alone can actually cause problems. In some especially sensitive folks supplemental D at all is not well tolerated.
It would perhaps make sense to group things based on requirements. I think by and large someone could start
Iodine with just
Iodine and selenium. The rest of the stuff on brownsteins list is all good but probably not totally required to get started. Then phase in additional nutrients or nutrient groups until the complete package is achieved. It is a big minefield and tough to navigate, so many factors from lifestyle to diet to personal genetics and existing conditions, they all play a role in what and how much a person needs.
Thats kind of why I feel there is no real shortcut to personal edification and experimentation, one really needs to put in the time and work. We only have one body and one life, unfortunately many dont seem to look to nutrition until a problem arises and they arent getting the results from modern medicine.
