Some of these toxins, especially saxitoxins are considered bioweapons that act on the brain and nervous system. In biochemical form, saxitoxins are easily dissolved into water and can be ingested or *inhaled*.

Oddly enough saxotoxin is also produced by pufferfish which has been cited as a key ingredient for voodoo zombie mixtures...

Similar intoxications can follow the growth of certain algae during “red tides.” You know... when the waters turn to "blood"... Not all cyanobacteria are red or green, but come in other colors.
