Hello Everyone,
I have done ICU's protocol for ascarias using the liquid form Valbazen for albendazole. What I didn't know was in taking/doing that protocol for pinworms is that it would not kill the adults, as was kindly pointed out to me.
(I still don't understand how pinworms turns into strongyloides, but have proof positive I have them)
Now, after the 2 week protocol and 7 days rest I am trying to do ICU's Strongyloides, Morgellons, & Filariasis protocol to take care of the strongyloids/adult pinworms.
I purchased the albendazole & ivermectin in liquid form...Valbazen Oral Suspension (Albendazole)as before and have had no problems with it at all. What is really bothering me is the Ivermectin (Durvet)that I bought. I got the same product that is on ICU's suggested brands.
Has anyone used this brand lately? I fear they may have changed their ingredients or because the Valbazen doesn't come in a box I don't know if the cautions read in a similar way. It comes in a yellow box, with a large red square and on that "Durvet Ivermectin (ivermectin) POUR-ON for cattle, Contains 5 mg ivermectin per mL". I think I bought the correct stuff, but heres what's bothering me and because of it I am worried about, and not taking it.
(Also, on the front it says in caps "for animal use only, keep out of the reach of children")
*The above didn't bother me, it says the same thing on the Valbazen.
These statements come off the side of the box & Do Concern me:
"This product is for application to skin surface only. Do not give orally or parenterally"
In bold caps "Warning!Not For Use In Humans"
Paraphrasing here "...may be irritating to human skin and eyes and absorbed through the skin...the user should wear a long-sleeved shirt and rubber gloves"
There is also 'residue' info...."must not be treated within 48 days of preparation for human consumption..."
Given this information (and more like it) I have not been able to work up the courage to put a dose of it inside of me. Did I buy the wrong thing or am I just being paranoid?
I NEED to take ivermectin now, to do the protocol. My skin is raw from these parasites and they do not care, they keep coming and show no mercy.
Does anyone out there understand this and can give me some suggestions as to what to do?? Help would be greatly appreciated!

I was faced with the same decision when I received my first fish pond pure praziquantel powder.I think the main reason they put all these warnings on them is to cover themselves.
Anyway I've done a little search here to see if anyone else has previously discussed this.I found a thread from sanjeen,which when you click on the link should hopefully allow you to read the whole thread.Hope the link works and hope it helps you.

Thanks for your input Steve, but I need Ivermectin yesterday. I will keep you in mind for my next protocol, tho, if you don't mind.
Hope, thank you so much for taking time to help me problem solve this issue....I hope some day to return the support :) As I was reading your post my left brain kicked my right back into gear. I wouldn't have thought to check that way, I did look through a lot of ICU's previous posts tho.
The real problem still troubles me, I don't seem to be able to find anyone taking/took the Durvet 'recently'. If you remember, a lot of those posts and protocols were written in 2010. How do I know if Durvet changed their recipe to make it? Don't want to start anything, but a lot of companies are cutting corners, so I have no way of knowing if it is still in the 'safe for humans' category.
I am going to try comparing ingredient labels for some of the other brands ICU has in her protocol to check. Have you used any of the ivermectin, and in what form/brand did you use?(if you don't mind my asking)
Thinking about going the other route with the paste, however, since I use to deworm horses in the past I have no idea how I'm going to get it past my mouth and into my stomach...

This is a reply to # 2,077,692I think the horse pastes (which come with a dosage syringe) are much easier to dose than the pour-on. I've used the Bimectin brand with some success.

This is a reply to # 2,078,075Lakegrrl,I know what you are saying about the importance of getting up to date ingredient information.You said you have used the horse paste before to de-worm horses and you don't know how you are going to get it passed your mouth and into your stomach.Do you think it is going to taste that bad?Oh well,just another joy for me to look forward to.
I haven't tried it yet,but I have ordered Bimectin horse paste from Equestian Orchard in The Republic of Ireland.It's apple flavored,so maybe might taste better.As I am in UK I can't buy it here cause they ask you tons of questions about your horses!I got the idea from one of Paul's previous posts to get it from there as they don't ask any questions.Paul, would you mind telling me where in Ireland you got yours from?

Hi Hope!
What protocol are you doing now? I am sorry you can't get something as simple as horse dewormer...I live in a state that lets one buy that, and the Alby Drench. I would rather order the pills for everything, but I would not know of a reliable source online to buy from. Heard a few scam stories, so staying away from there.
If you've ever dewormed a horse, it is an experience. I am hoping 10 years later the product has improved some. It's not like they are catering to a fussy market....little do they know :-)
BTW Can anyone give me some pointers on how to figure the dose for a person on the plunger application...I seem to be having a hard time.:-( I do know that if you put the tubes in the fridge you can push out a dose and it's firm enough to swallow like a pill ? (read that on one of the forums here).

I ordered the apple Durvet paste from Ebay...like 12 dollars for 4 tubes. I don't think it's bad at all. The only thing I'm noticing is when I take it, I seem to feel the ascaris(I assume) moving and going into my legs, which is frequent anyway. I seem to be getting more weird pain and pinching, but I think they are just getting pissed off and that's why they are biting me. I think I am going to try taking pyrantel pamoate a few hours before my night time Ivermectin to prevent this, since it paralyzes the ascaris.
I didn't read word for word the posts, but the prazi I just got says the same thing.

I just measure it off by my weight. Iver has high tolerance. I did see that febendazole has a new patent. Google it. Looks like they are using nano now. They must have caught on its working for some people. So be sure to Google your drug to see if its changed. Oxifendazole has been used in clinical trials and is susceptible to blood brain barrier.

This is a reply to # 2,077,692Pinworms don't turn into strongyloides, and it depends on what country you are in as to what strongyloides are called. Pinworms in the U.S. are enterobius and strongyloides stercoralis is threadworm. In the UK, enterobius is called threadworm and strongyloides is called pinworm.
So enterobius and strongyloides are two different worms, the main difference being that strongyloides can reproduce inside your body and enterobius can't. Enterobius is larger than strongyloides. You CAN have both, and many people do. Strongyloides are about 1/10 to 2/10 inches long (females are larger)and look a lot like grains of sand. Enterobius are 1/4 to 1/2 inch long (females also larger) and look like little bits of thread.
If your worms are coming out of your bum at night to reproduce, it's likely enterobius. If they are migrating throughout your body, it is likely strongyloides although enterobius can migrate, but they will die because they can't reproduce.
The only way to tell which is which is under a microscope, and then usually only size tells the story.
