I have had problems with my face the last 8 years and it came out of nowhere. I have tried everything and been to doctors and derms with no results. I am currently on a quest of my own to figure out my health issues.
At the moment I am in my first round of humaworm with unexpected results - worms. I also believe I have a mite issue on my face and scalp. Red cheeks and forhead with red bumps and puss breakouts. Some days better than others. At night my face and scalp itches / tingles. After a haircut my face always clears up some - maybe related maybe not.
At this moment I am using a neem and tea tree shampoo which I also wash my face with. I am also applying some tea tree oil mixed with lotion to my face at night. From what I have read though TT will not kill mites and is very bad for the face and eyes.
I am interested in ivermectin and mixing it with lotion and / or shampoo. I have read of people applying topically with good success. Has anyone tried on their scalp? Possible discoloring of hair, hairloss, etc?
I am ready to 'fix' myself and have had enough especially my embarassing face. Anyone with any experience please chime in.

This is a reply to # 2,074,417Don't know anything about Ivermectin for humans, although I give it to my cat monthly. I read, just today, since I am having an outbreak of demodex (my 4th in 2 years) of its use here: http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1203895-overview.
This website is hard science.
Pay particular attention to the baby shampoo treatment shown on that website. I have used that with success twice (I added a couple of drops of tea tree oil, since it is apparently now known that tea tree oil kills demodex. You just have to be diligent). Treat your whole eye lid, up to and including your eyebrows, and the space between your eyebrows. Search for Eyes 'n Mites on the internet, a natural substance by Naama, Ltd. That works, too. I think I'm getting these demodex from my cat, and I'm going to talk with my vet in a day or so.
You MUST change your pillowcase every day, and your sheets, too, if you're having a severe outbreak. Face cloths, too. I did this for two straight weeks on my second outbreak, and I thought I was cured. Still think I was, but I'll talk with the vet about that.
I wish you good luck. There seems to be some agreement now that rosacea may be caused by demodex.

This is a reply to # 2,075,185I have read about tea tree before and bought some quite awhile back, but for a different reason. I ended up making up my own routine per se which seems to be working.
I bought some shampoo that has both neem oil and tea tree oil in it. I am using that every night in the shower making sure to also lather my face when doing my hair. Also, before bed I am using a basic lotion with a few drops of pure neem, tea tree, and seabuckthorn oil mixed in. I just put the mix on my problem areas (for me this is the cheeks and forehead).
I have been doing this for a few days now and so far the results have been great. The nighttime itching/crawling seems to be less or non-existent and today I even noticed some of the redness going away. Bumps, scabs, etc are disappearing and almost completely gone already. I will be really happy if the redness goes away as the red color came the same time as all the other problems. I have always been told that was just rosacea, but now I am wondering if it was just mites.

This is a reply to # 2,076,998Horse Health Ivermectin Paste is excellent for facial application. It is not a messy jelly as are some other brands. You need to mix about 1/2 and 1/2 with a cream or lotion of your choice because it is 1.87%, whereas, Rx Soolantra is 1%. I doubt an ivermectin-based shampoo would be particularly effective because it would not have contact for a long enough time. Applying the paste directly to the scalp at night might work although I have not tried this (yet).
