Hi all:
Apologies for the super long post, and thanks in advance to anyone who's kind enough to read and advise.
About 4 months ago I suddenly started getting sick. I've been unwell for years but it began getting noticeably worse 4 months ago. Symptoms came on pretty much all at once and have continued to worsen.
A non exhaustive list in no particular order:
- vertigo
- migraines
- poor circulation (literally my skin is ice cold)
- brain fog
- lethargy
- fatigue
- muscle weakness
- constant pain around the area of my left kidney
- tremor
- joint pain
- muscle pain
- weight gain despite fluctuating appetite
- peripheral neuropathy
- stomach gurgling
- increased stomach bloating (I've had a bloated stomach for half my life but it's gotten worse recently)
- nausea with occasional vomitting
- occasional dry mouth and eyes
- menstrual irregularities
- hair loss
- constipation
- purpura on thighs
- occasional tachycardia
- night sweats
-
Body Odor
- canker sores
- geographic tongue
- blood pressure falling when standing
- increased clumsiness
I am diagnosed Asperger's syndrome, IBS, (15 years) anemic (3 years), Hashimoto's (12 years) and PCOS (7 years). I have had instances of h-pylori, candida, and yeast infections, for which I took olive leaf and coconut oil and symptoms appeared to recede.
I also had a plethora of tests recently to do with thyroid and adrenal issues but the doctors did not wish to follow them up. I had two tests for Lyme disease, but both came up negative and the doctor refused to submit me for a third. Tests for lupus, arthritis, MCTD and celiac all came back negative, but I had been off gluten for around a week when I took the test. My b-12 was very healthy.
What came back high in the red was a raised eosinophil count. In fact, my eosinophil count has been in the red for six months now, each time climbing higher. The doctor said this was likely due to one or two things - either
food allergies alone, or
food allergies and
parasite infection. However, the two classic symptoms of parasitic infection - itchy anus and weight loss - are not present in me. I'm also wondering why all my symptoms would suddenly occur at once?
18 days ago I quit gluten. I am 4 days without eggs, soy, yeast, fructose, lactose and nightshades. Yet I feel no better and my symptoms are as persistent as ever.
I have been taking an array of supplements on and off for nearly 2 years now and I am wondering if they could be causing or contributing to the problem? They are:
- zinc picolinate with copper (daily)
- fish oil (daily)
- vitamin e (2x weekly)
- vitamin k1 (daily)
- vitamin d3 (3x weekly)
- ferrous sulphate (daily)
- b-vit complex (3 x weekly)
- folic acid (daily)
- acidophilus (daily; but I often forget)
- digestive enzymes with HCL (took for about 4 months then stopped a month ago.. which strangely was when the gugling stomach got worse)
- magnesium malate (1 daily)
- calcium citrate (daily; but I often forget)
- vitamin k2 (started yesterday; the one with alfalfa, not soy)
- MSM (3 daily)
- olive leaf (was on for two months; stopped about 5 months ago)
- gingko biloba (occasionally, because I keep forgetting to take it)
- coconut oil (raw virgin cold pressed, 15g daily, for 6 months)
- TMG (taking for 3 months; stopped 3 months ago)
- jiaogulan tea (1 daily for adrenal support)
- 1/2 tsp Himalayan
Sea Salt (stopped last week)
my RXd medications are fluoxetine and levothyroxine (doctor will not prescribe T3 or natural dessicated thyroid), which I have taken for 15 and 12 years respectively.
So... could anyone suggest what might be wrong? Worms? Allergies? Resurgence of candida? Again, many apologies for the novel but I didn't want to leave any important information out.
Thanks!
