What is the highest dose of just iodine, that people have taken in the past and were there any detox reactions.
For ex. has anyone done 30 drops of lugol's 5%?
Thanks,
Paraboy
Lugol's 5% is a combined iodine/iodide solution in distilled water of approx 6.25mg per verticle drop.
This 6.25mg contains 2.5mg iodine and 3.75mg iodide.
It is my understanding that iodine/iodide only stays in our body for 24 - 48 hours per dose.
Awesome! 48 drops would be 120mg of iodine.
How long have u been at this dose?
Thanks for the info,
Paraboy
I was looking at strictly, the iodine content which is 2.5mg per verticle drop.
So, there are 24 drops per dropper full?
According to Jcrows:
"Calculating Number of MG's of Iodine and Potassium Iodide per Drop of Lugol's Solution:
LUGOL'S 5%: Each VERTICAL drop is about 6.25 mg's of iodine/potassium iodide (2.5 mg iodine, 3.75 mg potassium iodide) and 2 drops is about 12.50 mg's of iodine/potassium iodide (5.0 mg iodine, 7.50 mg potassium iodide). Compared to other's, J.CROW'S® Lugol's Solution offers big savings.
LUGOL'S 2%: Slightly less than 1/2 half the above measurements. "

I'm looking at the chart from optimox where it shows that thyroid adverse effects start at approx 150 mg of iodine.

Here is a post where Snakeater advised 32 drops of iodoral 3 x per day for asthma.
That would be 240 mg of iodine and 360 mg of iodide per day.
Futher reasearch has shown that the cure to Asthma and Bronchitis was 1-2 grams per day of Potassium Iodide (KI). I gave some Iodoral to someone who claimed to have Broncial Asthma. I instructed her to take 4 ( 50 mgs) 3 X per day, after a week she came as asked for more, stating that she had not felt so good since she was a child. I'm going to give her a bottle of lugols for her and her family. They live down wind of a coal fired hot water plant, and I'm 1000% sure its the cause of her asthma and the cronic sickness of her children.

According to the chart below, >150 mg of iodine would cause adverse effects on the thyroid.

That's a good question that maybe ginagirl could answer.
For me, I want to start at the top and reach saturation as soon as possible.
IMO, I prefer to take something with both iodine and iodide.
I like to add sski to my lugol's to up the iodide content.
