Your doctor will probably pooh pooh any concerns about parasites and/or think you are nuts and/or give you lab tests which are usually worthless. You can always give it a try though.

Babies will not get parasites while in the womb that I know of. In fact their intestines are sterile at brith. They can easily pick up eggs from just about anywhere though and yes, babies can have parasites.

I would contact Humaworm and just check out in general on the web about how to gently treat your baby. Or, if it seems healthy at present, maybe wait til he or she is older. In the meantime you can be giving probiotics - things like live cultures in yogurt & kefir to help build up the colon's good bacteria. They won't kill parasites, but they make the baby healthier in general to fight off problems - including even, according to recent research, some mental problems.

When first researching the subject, I read many accounts of parasites, specifically, helminths, being passed from mother to baby in the womb. Also, it's widely known that they pass from mother to baby in canines, so why would we as mammals be any different?

However, I do not believe everyone has them, and you are not totally sure you do, so don't freak out, yet. I'm sure your baby is fine, but it's good that you are aware and proactive in this situation.

You are cleansing, but not sure you have them though, right? So try to get a positive diagnosis yourself, that way your pediatrican will take you seriously.

When my son was born 26 yrs ago, his original pediatrician was MY pediatrician from birth. He was old school, and probably had seen it all, and knew all about parasites. Today, I would fear dealing with this issue, and having a young child in my care......you have to be careful not to be labeled crazy. Sad but true. Please update what's going on with you.

Im sorry to hear of your concerns but yes your baby could possible have worms also. When my son was 2 years old i found a worm coming out of his diaper. And honestly, doctors can be no help sometimes. I have done lab results for him and they show no parasites. But obviously they are wrong. And I would watch out for asthma and eczema symptoms in your child I saw on a tv show that children with those symptoms have parasites in their lungs and joints. My child unforetunetly has both and I believe it stems from the parasites. I hope my message helps.
