Hi everyone!
I'm looking forward to chatting with you all. Just a few simple (hopefully!) questions to get the ball rolling:
Is it OK to take calcium supplements if you have hypoglycemia (due to hyperinsulinism), if balanced with magnesium? I understand that calcium on its own causes insulin to be released.
Basically the problem I have is that as well as blood
Sugar issues, I also have IBS and therefore cannot eat any dairy products. I am a very underweight individual with low testosterone, therefore it is really important that I get adequate amounts of calcium in my diet, for the sake of good bone health.
However, a hair mineral analysis showed that I am deficient in magnesium, which is not at all surprising given that I have been under large amounts of stress for quite some time. If I can take these supplements together, what should be a sensible ratio to follow?
Given my IBS, which is diarrhea predominent, would it be wise to take this with meals to avoid intestinal distress?
Finally, there is a chance that my hyperinsulinism and subsequent blood
Sugar dysregulation is caused by stress? If this is indeed the case, do many people find that this situation reverses once the stress is under control, and if so, how long does it generally take to turn things around? (I appreciate that there could be a large range to this answer, depending on severity of condition).
I'm a 5"7, 21 year old male and have no cholesterol or triglyceride issues.
Please do respond if you only feel able to help with one of these questions, I would be very grateful for any type of help.
Thank you!
