PLease help, I have been diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism, my calcium levels are elevated , I was put on vitamin D for some time but after the course of vit D is now finished I feel much worse, and there is a swelling in my throat. I feel very shaky and dizzy and have head pain. Is there anything I can do to help take care of this (probable) tumor in the neck? I was thinking about castor oil or pau darco tea and maybe essiac tea. Otherwise I think I may be admitted to hospital where they will remove it but I would like to avoid this option if at all possible, and there is no guarantee that it will cure the condition.

Have you tried supplemental iodine? From my understanding, hyperparathyroidism can be caused by iodine deficiency. For help with that, I suggest going to the Iodine Supplementation forum.
If there is a tumor present, the combination of oleander extract, Budwig's flaxseed/cottage cheese (small curd cottage cheese or quark, if available) and Essiac tea has been a good one. I like Pau d'arco a lot too.
If you determine that there is definitely a tumor present and it is or is suspected to be cancerous, then I suggest looking at:
A Natural Anti-Cancer Protocol
and also suggest looking at using a topical cream made of concentrated oleander, concentrated colloidal silver and a bit of DMSO. See:

I was curious about the Budwig Program with the Cottage Cheese and Flax Seed. Do you think Kiefer could be used instead of the Cottage Cheese? I've just started to research that protocol and was curious what your thoughts are on the matter.

This is a reply to # 1,924,942I've seen very little info over the years in regards to this except that it is possible to remove just those glands without messing with the thyroid. I would think from what you are describing that you are being flooded with thyroid hormone thus creating hyperthyroid..have they given you any meds to calm that down? I just don't have any input as for natural alternatives to approach this issue. The parathyroid glands are intimately entwined with kidney function. How are your kidneys?

I would not suggest supplemental iodine beyond the RDA for the reason that in all probability your kidney function is compromised. I certainly would not suggest self-treating with iodine.
I don't understand the etiology of this disease, in fact, I don't know if anyone does. It's linked to phosphates in foods, calcium deficiency, I would imagine that there is a disorder of thyroid function at the root of this although I don't believe that this has been shown in the literature.
