So dropping the word "store". The sluggish under performing liver will become so if its elimination or processing actions are impeded.
Actually both are correct. The liver can store some toxins, but it also becomes toxin when it under performs leading to an increased level of toxins present even though they are not being stored.
yah i think "liver flush" is kind of a misnomer, i mean all that oil/fats is stimulating cck i think which causes the gallbladder to aggressively pump/dump out bile and as a consequence of that i think the liver then has to make more (bile) and so the gallbladder stores it again. So in a way it can be a kind of bilary tree/gall bladder cleanse
Yes, the "liver flushes" using olive oil magnesium and a citric acid source do not cleanse the liver. The oil will help contract the gallbladder, which reduces bile stagnation.
The big squishy blobs people are mistaking for gallstones are really blobs of saponified oil as analysis has shown several times. These are formed in the intestines as a reaction between the "liver flush" ingredients and bile. This is why these blobs do not have the texture, color, density or much of anything else in common with real gallstones.
If real gallstones are present though, the ingestion of a large amount of oil can cause a real gallstone to lodge in a bile duct leading to problems such as pancreatitis, which can require emergency surgery. If people want to prevent bile stagnation there are safer ways to do this such as ingesting small amounts of fats with meals and avoiding progesterone supplementation.
not looking to become a liver doctor and I don't speak medicalese, again, people, i'm after a very simple question with a one sentence answer:
'does the liver accumulate toxins in the liver (is this a scientific fact or someones opinion)'
EDIT:
from what I read from various websites by doctors and other medical people, the liver accumulates some heavy metals like other areas of the body but not more than others and therefore basically doesn't accumulate or store toxins as a result of it being the body's toxin neutralizing plant. so basically it was all lies about liver flushes, bitters flushing the liver, the liver 'letting go of all those toxins', etc.
Not sure how you are reaching this conclusion. You are admitting that some toxins do build up in the liver. And since there are ways to reduce these toxins then how is this a lie that the liver can be cleansed?
Furthermore, the liver does not have to store toxins to become "toxic". And again levels of toxins can be reduced. Even some of the nutrients you talk about being healthy can be toxic. For example, what happens to the liver if you take 25,000IU daily of real vitamin A for a while. And yes it does happen. They even sell 25,000IU vitamin A softgels.

Will you also be in danger of liver toxicity if you take 25,000 IU of Beta Carotene (Pro Vitamin A) daily or does that apply only to real vitamin A?
Only with true vitamin A. With beta carotene the body only converts what it needs in to vitamin A.
I was reading up on bitters 'cleansing' the liver but this doesn't make sense to me as I learned that the liver doesn't ever at all 'store' toxins or anything in itself (does it even store toxins or do they bind into fat through another process), if it cant detoxify something it lets it through so how could bitters possibly flush or cleanse a perfectly clean and flushed liver in the first place?
Let's start here. Does the liver store toxins? Actually yes. Heavy metals for example have been shown to accumulate in the liver. And what about pesticides, which have also been shown to accumulate in liver tissue? Are these not toxins?
There must be some other mechanism such as stimulating the liver to more effectively detoxify the blood, or stimulate the body to convert stored toxins such as in fat back to the blood toxin state to be processed by the liver which is in fact not at all a liver cleanse but rather a body cleanse using the liver and it's just confusing someone help?
The liver does process many toxins, breaking them down and/or binding them for excretion. This also brings up another point regarding the detoxification of the liver. The liver does not have to store all the toxins that it deals with. To understand this concept easier think of the liver as being a river that empties out in to the ocean, which would represent the colon. Does a river store toxins? Well they can to an extent, but many of the toxins are transient. Does this mean that the river can be cleansed (purified)? Of course it can. How toxic the river becomes though is dependent on certain factors such as the amount of toxins entering the river and the ability of the river to handle the toxins and to flush the rest. A high volume flow of the river will be more efficient than a stagnant river. The liver is no different. If the liver is stagnant it is less efficient at detoxifying harmful substances and thus we develop an accumulation of toxins even if they are not being stored.
Bitters help make the liver the more efficiently so that stored toxins such as metals and pesticides and accumulated toxins such as excess hormones can be dealt with more efficiently.
please don't reply unless you know what you're talking about as there is enough i heard that she said that he said this is true
They should check Medline for the research showing the liver can store toxic compounds such as heavy metals and pesticides before assuming that the liver does not store toxins.
