My wife and I started low carb in November. My lipids improved on all counts but hers did not.
Her triglycerides did improve but total cholesterol went up with both HDL and LDL going up. Her ratio is still good so we are not concerned about the higher cholesterol numbers since that may in fact be healthier.
However her blood
Sugar went from 99 to 106. I guess that is not a big difference but...
We are wondering if this may be due to losing fat and whatever is stored in her body fat as she has been losing weight on the low carb. In other word is this a temporary condition that some folks experience when starting on a low carb high fat diet?
She needs to lose about 15
pounds and needs to normalize her systolic blood pressure. She is 63,
She just took a 2 week break from low carbing but is starting in again using the phase one plan in Bruce Fife's book, "Eat Fat, Look Thin".
Any input would be appreciated.
