I am a 25 y/o female who is approx 15 pounds underweight due to a myriad of health issues:
-Candidiasis and dysbyosis
-Severe Heavy Metal Toxicities
-GI issues (IBS-Constipation/IBD, GERD, GASTROPARESIS!!!!, bloating, gas, cramps, rectal prolapse/hemorroids, mucus and digested food in stool, food intolerances to most foods like gluten, dairy, gluten, most grains, fermented foods and yeast, fruit/fructose/sugars....)
-FMS/CFS
-Hormonal and neurotransmitter imbalances
-Adrenal Fatigue and HypOthyroidism
-Poly-Vagal Nervous System Dysfunction and Polarity Switch
-Anxiety, depression, PTSD
-Osteoporosis, acne, brittle hair...
The list goes on and on.
I am currently seeing a Chiro who is doing Emotional NAET to heal past trauma issues and I am going to start Miracle-Mineral-Supplement therapy to help start the cleansing process (and I will be taking Chlorella and Citrus Pectin with Miracle-Mineral-Supplement in order to help soak up the toxins). After Miracle-Mineral-Supplement , I will begin some sort of heavy metal detox, either thru IV-EDTA chelation or through homeopathy/supplements or a combo of both. I will also do candida and liver homeopathic cleanses.
I cannot digest food unless I take HCl and digestive enzymes... but even those don't fully help with my GI issues, especially the gastroparesis and GERD and extreme fullness.
Here is what I currently eat every day (approx 1500 cals, 45g fat (28%), 140g carbs (37%) , 130g (35%) protein, 23g fiber)...I know I need more cals, but with my GI issues, I'm lucky to be able to fit in this much!
1. 4oz homemade greens juice (cucumber, spinach, celery, cilantro...)
1 Food for Life Brown Rice Tortilla
1 TB organic almond butter + 2 TB Rice Protein powder (I mix this with a bit of water to make a protein-packed spread)
2. Food for Life brown rice tortilla
3oz chicken breast
1/2c steamed veggies, romaine, carrots (I put the chicken and veggies in the wrap)
3. brown rice cake + 1 TB almond butter + 2 TB nutribiotics brown rice protein powder
4. Same as meal 2
5. 2 jumbo soft boiled eggs + 4oz green juice
My Chiro’s plan for me is this:
-NAET for emotional trauma
-MMS + chlorella and pectin
-IV EDTA to further help with the meal removal
-homeopathic yeast killers and metal chelators
-rebuilding the body, supporting the glands/liver/flora
I have developed a major aversion to the taste, smell, and texture of meat. I used to be vegan until about 5 years ago b/c I developed allergies to soy and gluten. I would love to be vegan again (for I felt my healthiest), but am not sure how to do so healthfully and without losing wt. I basically just want to eat a healing diet that will help me be strong and athletic again (I used to do all sorts of sports, but my health deteriorated to the point that I cant even work now).
I have to puree the chicken and veggies b/c I cannot digest them.
I used a good amount of kelp/dulse, and a smidge of cayenne/black pepper in 2 of my meals.
Any suggestions you can offer would be SO appreciated. I have tried to find a dietician/nutritionist/alternative doctor to help me with diet, but no one is willing to help, besides throwing a pre-made diet plan at me full of foods that are either not very healing and/or I'm allergic to.
If you could provide me with suggestions of a list of healing foods to eat, meal/snack suggestions, and a good amount of cals, protein/carbs/fats to shoot for, that would be SO helpful!!! What are good ratios/percentages to shoot for in terms of macronutrients to ensure I am eating balanced?

This is a reply to # 1,860,745wake up in the a.m. and take as hot a bath as you can stand with 1-2 pints of 3% hydrogen peroxide found at the drugstore. get yourself a water filter for the bath water. add in also large box of kosher salt/sea salt optionally and optionally 1-8 cups of Epsom Salts .
follow a vata pacifying diet as your symptoms and cfs is a vata disorder. google various sites for 'vata pacifying diet'
do not use mms. it is poison. though some people are possibly having good results with it, people also survive cancer with chemo but it is still poison.
stay away from edta, if you are mercury toxic this can make things a whole lot worse. i would lay off the chelation for a bit until you get your diet down and stop the downward spiral.
once you have enough sodium in your body start to do gentle saunas with a steam sauna or fir sauna, but not until you are properly hydrated and taking in enough dietary sodium.
avoid all stimulants such as caffeine, avoid alcohol, sugar.
the vata pacifying diet will help your digestion with all of the spices like ginger, cumin, turmeric, fennel, fenugreek, garlic.
be very careful of the homeopathic heavy metal remedies asthese can be stronger than chemical chelators.
naet doesn't seem like it's going to do a whole lot for you but it is worth a try. very expensive. if it were me i'd put the money into quality foods.
your current diet seems pretty dry.
also add in a self oil massage of cold pressed sesame 1-2x a day.
cook your foods in ghee or yogurt. avoid most raw foods.
all of yout symptoms fall classically into a vata disturbance with the joints, nervous system, gas, dryness and weight loss.
do not beans at all.
instead of hard boiled eggs look into making your own mayonnaise or aioli with a good quality oil.
cook all of your vegetables until they are butter soft. stay away from brassica family; this is all listed in the vata pacify guidelines.
make frequent hot tea with ginger cumin and fennel. do not drink or eat anything cold.
i would reconsider the fruit and try to experiment with ripe fruits like grapefruit, berries, or anything sweet like oranges, papayas, mangos, pineapples, try cooking them or stewing them. if you are still reactive then forego them and listen to your body.
keep avoiding all fermented foods. add in raw beet juice or cooked beets into the diet. stay away from all dry foods, everything should be warm and cooked well and with fat or oil.
try some high quality kefir.
for dairy try boiling milk first to see if you can tolerate that.
if you can't eat meat then perhaps dairy will help you gain some weight, stay with only soft cheeses.
additional fats should help you gain some weight. try basmati rice instead of brown rice and add ghee/salt to it. look up a recipe for basic kichadi.
you will want to increase your fat/oil intake with ghee, sesame oil, or any other oil that you like.

How much should fat contribute to my diet (grams? Percentages?)?
How much grams/percentage of carbs? Protein?
I am trying Miracle-Mineral-Supplement because EVERYTHING else has failed. If a person does it "low and slow," then the adverse effects are not usually seen, and it can help reverse many chronic, difficult-to-treat health issues.- Re: Diet help #132242

This is a reply to # 1,860,773metal poisoning and vegan is a tough combination. i think there are some geniuses out there who managed to figure it out but it's not easy.
i would try raw milk and boiled milk. pasteurized milk is a big problem. a lot of people who think they are dairy intolerant are able to handle raw dairy due to the intact enzymes. i used to get terrible diarrhea from store bought milk and was amazed when i had raw milk. boiled milk also works because all of the protein is completely broken down. if it doesn't work then so be it, but keep an open mind and try it once, you might be surprised. i was amazed also that i could tolerate boiled pasteurized milk when my reactions to it unboiled were pretty severe.
it sounds like you have tried a lot, but there is still a lot out there. mms will likely make you worse but good luck when you do it.
have you done any liver flushes? or peroxide baths?
how about seafood?
eggs are good enough if you can do well with them.
don't overthink the percentages, i think this is how people get into trouble in the first place, just do what feels right. if you have a complete aversion to fats/oils then don't do it, if you like some or a lot then go with what your body says.
mms is a chlorine based oxygen supplement. most people into health are trying to AVOID chlorine. there are much better and safer ways to get oxygen into your system like green juices, peroxide, ozone, donsbach's stabilized oxygen, homozon and its variants like Oxypowder , pranayama, walking on a mountain top, hyperbaric oxygen chamber to name a few.
maybe try getting some NAC at the health food store to help with the metals. i assume you had your fillings removed already?
here is the formula for protein...

when you are hungry for carbs eat carbs, when you are hungry for protein eat protein. the only problem with beans and vata is that they will dry you out. but if they are cooked butter soft with added fat like ghee they aren't too bad. or add a side of guacamole or sour cream.
the ayurvedic suggestions i made act in their own system of reality/science. give it a try first and see if it works for you.
warm spiced moist or oily foods, sour and sweet ripe fruits, nothing dry, extra salt and fat, warm cooked grains, no dry grains like rye, millet, brown rice.

I really want a meal plan!!!!! I honestly dont know how to eat anymore due to gut issues...but I know that diet will help with that too.

I will be doing a liver detox via my chiro in a couple months. I think it's homeopathic. Are there other methods of flushing the liver?
IDK what a peroxide bath is.
I avoid seafood b/c of the contaminants in it. I like it though and it digests best for me...

Sorry, but that doesn't work for me. See, like I said, I have gastroparesis and have developed certain food aversions, so I'm never "hungry" nor am I hungry for a certain carb/pro/fat. AND, as I mentioned before, I cannot do any dairy!

I believe wild Alaskan salmon is supposed to be relatively 'safe', and tastes great in the steamer!
Also, how about avocados? They're quite calorie/fat dense and should be relatively easy to digest. Today I combined the meat from a couple of avocados with two spoons of coconut oil and gave it a whizz in the food processor until smooth. Half an hour in the freezer and I had a tasty, green 'ice cream' snack that easily increased my calorie intake by 600 calories or so - good, healthy fats, and caprylic acid in the coconut.

How do u typically eat so I can see how to construct my diet so that it is good for killing candida and for healing my health issues? What is a typical day like for u and what is a good macronutrient ratio to shoot for? (carbs, pro, fat %)?

I'm rather uncomfortable giving advice to others on the forum, as I only joined recently myself, and am still experimenting with different regimens.
While I agree that eating a lot of fat may be concerning, I think it's more important to consume sufficient calories and remain satiated. If you're following a strict candida diet, with no Sugar or starchy food (as I am), I believe it will be difficult to consume sufficient calories. Steaming/cooking vegetables obviously makes them more manageable, and easier for your body to digest, however unless you're constantly eating, it's surely difficult to get into the 2000 or so daily calorie intake. This is why I consume the good, raw fats like olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado.
I'm also underweight, and losing muscle tone. Previously I was a strong cyclist and practised yoga 3-4 times a week, however these days my exercise is limited to walking for 30 minutes or so each day. I felt much weaker a few days after starting the strict candida diet (this could either be die-off, or my body adjusting to the reduced Sugar intake), but I'm hopeful that eating more fats (avocados, coconut oil) will help. However, as I mentioned, it's early days, and I'm still experimenting.
As for a typical daily diet, well, what works for one person may not necessarily be appropriate for others. I would like to be able to eat more, however during the week, when working in an office, opportunities are limited. As mentioned above, I use my 40 minute lunch break to go walking, then eat 'lunch' afterwards, discreetly at my desk, trying not to disturb colleagues who sit around me. Also, please note that I am also consuming a Japanese herbal medicine/tea, which should be taken on an empty stomach, meaning I do not snack between meals.
Breakfast:
- 200g steamed salmon
- 3 scrambled eggs
- avocado
Lunch:
- avocado, spinach, cucumber, miyoga, sprouts, etc. chopped, dressed in olive oil, wrapped in lettuce leaves, wrapped in nori sheets (easy to eat with fingers)
- more avocado
Dinner:
- 200g steamed salmon
- steamed broccoli, bok choi, okra, tossed in olive oil
- avocado and lettuce salad
I try not to get too hung-up on percentages and micro-nutritional content. I believe the most important thing on the candida diet is to avoid sugar, then to get enough calories so that you feel satiated.
Regarding coconut oil, I believe most folks recommend two tablespoons, twice a day. However I expect you can consume more or less if desirable.

This is a reply to # 1,861,582I suggest 1 tablespoon with a meal per day at first. When that no longer has the desired effect, then add another spoonful at a different time of day. I didn't go higher than 3 per day.
Sometimes, 3 tablespoons stopped having the desired effect for me. I took a break for a while (several days or longer) and when I started again, the effect was back.

With xv coconut oil, the die-off can be pretty heavy; which is good and bad, depending on your point-of-view. Good because it's effectively killing yeast. Bad because of the way it will make you feel while it's working.- Re: Diet help #145122

This is a reply to # 1,860,745I had some of the same problems you have. There is so much to say about the matter that this post doesn't have the room. So I will make it as short as possible and deal with one subject at a time. I don't know if you have the same problem as I but you might have a hiatal hernia if your food is not digesting properly. A natural doctor figured this out for me as I was in dire pain. And after all these western doctors told me that it was all in my head , this natural doctor had me lay down and he pulled my stomach down and it was instant relief. and he told me to take a powerful probiotic and 3 times a day have my husband massage/pull down my stomach for several weeks. Also it sounds that you desperatly need to clean your colon . I am also at the end of dealing with my systemic candida problem that I have. The body heals in layers , so there is different things you have to do at different times. If you want to hear more let me know ,otherwise I won't waste my time because there is so much to say.
