This is a hornets nest, opinions on all sides, so here is mine for free;
Iodine intake does two things, first the beneficial thing is that it moves Mercury Salts out of the body that is the increased excretion.
The second part is that it mobilizes Hg, Andy Cutler would say that is a bad thing. Since not REAL chelators exist the bond to Hg is temporary and there is a good chance it won't make it out of the system but end up concentrating in worse locations like Brain and Kidneys.
One more thing, some consider the Mercury Salts to be less an issue but Homeopathy disagrees:

and there is always the issue of an Hg bond with iodine:

As Trapper often says, iodine is a test. It certainly highlighted my weak points, even ones I didn't already suspect. I still believe that when some people complain that iodine is bad because it does this awful thing and that awful thing, what they're really seeing are their bodies' weak points that need to be worked on. I'm sure there are exceptions to that, but for the majority... school's in session. :) Good luck with your summer test, cougar!
